It was a pleasure welcoming members of The Norwegian School of Sport Sciences to EDCare following a great time at the PROMISE Conference in Colorado Springs!

We enjoyed giving them a tour of our eating disorder treatment program and sharing more about how Athlete EDGE at EDCare provides specialized, multidisciplinary care designed to meet the unique needs of athletes.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to connect with fellow professionals who are committed to advancing athlete health and well-being and to continue the conversation around supporting athletes in both recovery and their return to sport.

What a fun way to connect with young athletes before heading back to school!

EDCare’s Director of Nutrition Services, Linda Steinhardt, MS, RD, CSSD, CEDS-C, recently coached a summer camp session at Colorado School of Gymnastics, sharing how balanced nutrition and an all foods fit mentality can fuel performance and support wellbeing.

Helping young athletes build a balanced relationship with food, their bodies, themselves and their peers is part of helping them thrive both on and off the gym floor.

Thank you to Colorado School of Gymnastics for welcoming Linda and Athlete EDGE at EDCare.

Last week, Athlete EDGE at EDCare was proud to sponsor the 2026 Rocky Mountain Athletic Trainers Association Annual Clinical Symposium at Colorado College.

Athletic trainers play an important role in recognizing early warning signs when an athlete may be struggling with an eating disorder, disordered eating, or mental health concerns. Early awareness and support can make a meaningful difference in helping athletes access care.

It was a pleasure connecting with so many professionals throughout the event and continuing conversations focused on athlete health, education, and reducing stigma surrounding eating disorders in sport.

Athlete EDGE at EDCare was proud to participate in the American Sports and Performance Dietitians Association (ASPDA) 2026 Annual Conference. Linda Steinhardt, MS, RD, CSSD, CEDS, presented “Collegiate Athletes' Experiences with Body Composition Testing: What’s Next?” highlighting important considerations surrounding athlete health, body image, and performance culture.

We appreciated the opportunity to connect with colleagues, engage in meaningful discussions, and collaborate with professionals dedicated to advancing athlete well-being. A highlight of the conference was touring the Ochsner Sports Performance Center, home of the New Orleans Saints (NFL) and New Orleans Pelicans (NBA)!

When athletes like Valtteri Bottas speak openly about mental health and eating disorders, it helps break the silence and reminds others they are not alone. Even at the highest levels of sport, the pressure to perform can take a significant toll.

Seeking support is a sign of strength. With the right care, recovery is possible for athletes at every level.

Formula 1 driver Valtteri Bottas believes support in motorsports for mental health struggles has greatly improved during his career and gave him the courage to reveal his own personal battles
