Meet co-founder Sarah, the other half of the WHC founding team!
Sarah has been a nurse for over 20 years, starting in the ICU before going back to school to become a nurse practitioner. Her path led her through integrative and functional medicine, where she discovered what it really means to treat the root cause of disease rather than just its symptoms. But something felt misaligned. The clinic she worked at was membership only, and Sarah had always felt called to serve the underserved.
That calling brought her to WHC, and it is personal. As the mother of a son who is a person of color, Sarah has seen firsthand how racism and systemic injustice shape health outcomes in this country. As Martin Luther King Jr. said, 'Of all the forms of inequality, injustice in health care is the most shocking and inhumane.' Sarah wanted to be part of the solution.
These days Sarah splits her time between patient care, running the business, and training the growing team at WHC. What may surprise people about WHC's approach is the emphasis on deeper healing work. From nutrition to substance misuse, Sarah and the team address the emotional roots that often need to be faced before real progress on lifestyle change can happen. Nothing is more rewarding to her than witnessing the moment someone decides to take ownership of their health and starts taking steps toward that.
Outside of work, Sarah loves to travel with her family. This summer, they're spending extended time in Guatemala 🌍
