30-Day June Challenge: Walk Out All Things Mental Health.
This June, UCC invites you to join our “Walk It Out” Mental Health 30-Day Challenge as we walk toward better mental, emotional, and physical wellness—one step at a time.
For the next 30 days, we challenge you to walk at least 15–40 minutes a day. Your walk can happen anywhere:
🌳 At the park
🏋🏽♀️ On the gym treadmill
🏠 On your walking pad
🏘️ Around your neighborhood
🛒 While running errands
♿ Or with any accommodations that support your ability, mobility, and safety
If you have a disability or limited mobility, please adapt this challenge in a way that works for you. This may include seated movement, assisted walking, stretching, wheelchair movement, physical therapy exercises, or any form of intentional movement approved for your body. Your journey counts.
Why Walking Is Good for Mental Health
Walking is more than exercise—it is a mental health tool. Research shows that walking can help:
✅ Reduce stress and anxiety
✅ Improve mood and boost endorphins
✅ Support better sleep
✅ Increase energy and focus
✅ Help manage symptoms of depression
✅ Create space to process emotions
✅ Improve overall physical health
✅ Encourage mindfulness and self-care
Even a short daily walk can help clear your mind, regulate your emotions, and reconnect you with yourself.
Make Your Walk Meaningful
As you walk, choose something that encourages, inspires, or relaxes you:
🎧 Listen to your favorite podcast
🎶 Create your own “Walk It Out” playlist
🙏🏽 Listen to a sermon or devotional
📖 Play an audiobook
🌿 Walk in silence and enjoy nature
💭 Use the time to pray, reflect, or practice gratitude
