As a couples therapist, I can usually tell which couples are going to make it.

Not because they never argue.

Not because they’re more compatible.

And definitely not because they’re perfect.

It’s usually something much smaller.

One person starts talking.

The other person looks up.

Listens.

Gets curious.

Acts like what their partner is saying matters.

That sounds simple.

But after years of raising kids, managing schedules, paying bills, and surviving everyday life, a lot of couples stop having those moments.

Not intentionally.

They just get busy.

That’s why I created the Roommate Reset.

Not as another relationship course.

Not as homework.

Just a simple way for couples to start having the kinds of conversations that make you feel seen, important, and connected again.

Ten minutes.

A few guided prompts.

A place to start.

❤️ Comment CONNECT and I’ll send you the quiz that shows which area of your relationship needs attention first.

Most couples don’t stop talking.
They stop sharing the little things.
The random thought.
The funny story.
The “look at this.”
The “come here for a second.”
And one day they wake up feeling disconnected without knowing why.
❤️ Have you ever caught yourself thinking, “We weren’t always like this.”

Most couples don’t wake up one day and decide to become roommates.

It happens in much smaller ways.

You stop sharing the random story from your day.

What’s one thing you haven’t shared with your partner lately that you probably would have years ago?

Unpopular opinion:

Most marriages don’t struggle because of a lack of love.

They struggle because the relationship gets replaced by logistics.

Kids.
Schedules.
Practices.
Bills.
Groceries.

Necessary?

Absolutely.

But if that’s all you talk about, don’t be surprised when your marriage starts feeling more like a business partnership than a relationship.

🌿 Happy World Mental Health Day! 🌿

Today, we celebrate the courage it takes to prioritize your mental well-being and recognize the importance of taking care of our minds, hearts, and relationships.

As couples navigating infidelity recovery, we know how challenging and emotionally draining the journey can be. But today, let's pause, breathe, and remember:

💚 You are resilient.
💚 You are worthy of healing.
💚 Your mental health is just as important as your physical health.

On this World Mental Health Day, take a moment to check in with yourself. Ask:

What do I need to feel emotionally safe today?
How can I offer myself compassion and grace?
How can I support my partner’s mental health as we rebuild together?
Remember, small acts of self-care can make a big difference:

🌸 Set aside 5 minutes for deep breathing or meditation.
🌸 Reach out to your partner for a meaningful conversation.
🌸 Take a mindful walk to clear your head and reflect on your progress.
Healing takes time, but you’re not alone on this journey. If you’re feeling overwhelmed or stuck, reach out to this supportive community. We’re here for you—every step of the way. 💖

Let’s make mental health a priority, not just today but every day.
