Summer habits your OB-GYN actually wants you to know

Summer can bring more sweat, swimming, travel, and changes in routine, and those little shifts can sometimes lead to irritation or discomfort.

A few simple habits can help support vaginal and urinary health during the warmer months:

Change out of wet swimsuits and sweaty clothes when you can. Choose breathable underwear. Avoid scented soaps, sprays, wipes, and douches. Stay hydrated, especially when traveling or spending time outdoors. Use the restroom regularly rather than holding your urine for long periods.

And most importantly: pay attention to changes.

Your body does not need harsh products to feel clean. Gentle care is best, and if symptoms like itching, burning, odor, unusual discharge, or discomfort persist or return, your OB-GYN can help you figure out what’s going on.

Save this as your summer vaginal health checklist.

This National Nurses Week, we’re celebrating the nurses who show up every day with compassion, expertise, and unwavering dedication to women’s health.

From patient education and preventive care to supporting women through pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and every stage of life—nurses play an essential role in the care experience.

Their impact goes far beyond appointments and procedures. They are advocates, educators, problem-solvers, and a source of comfort for so many women and families.

To all the nurses who make a difference every single day: thank you. 💗

Getting called back after a mammogram can feel unsettling, but it’s a normal part of care—especially for women with dense breast tissue. In fact, about 40% of women, particularly those in their 40s, have dense breasts.

Breast density varies, and the denser the tissue, the harder it can be to detect abnormalities on a mammogram alone. That’s why callbacks are common—they allow for additional imaging to get a clearer, more complete picture.

For women with C or D density, your provider may recommend next steps like a breast ultrasound or MRI. This isn’t bad news—it’s simply an added layer of protection to ensure the most accurate screening possible.

If you receive a callback, remember: it’s a proactive step in your care, not a reason to panic. 💙

Regular self-breast exams are important—and it’s not unusual to feel “lumps,” especially before your period. The best time to check is right after your period, when breast tissue is less tender. If you notice any of the following changes and they persist through your next cycle, it’s important to have a professional breast exam.

Breast lumps can feel different depending on what’s causing them. Some may feel soft and movable, while others may feel firmer or more irregular. Understanding these differences can help you stay aware of what’s normal for your body.

Most changes are not serious—but staying consistent with self-exams and knowing when to follow up helps ensure you’re taking the right steps for your health. 💗

Today, we recognize the people who keep everything moving behind the scenes.

Our administrative professionals are often the first voice patients hear and the last one they speak to—setting the tone for every experience with care, kindness, and attention to detail.

From managing schedules to supporting patients through every step of their visit, your impact doesn’t go unnoticed. The positive feedback we receive every day is a direct reflection of the work you do.

Thank you for being such an essential part of the care we provide. 💗

Most breast changes don’t hurt.
And that’s exactly why they’re easy to ignore.

Here’s the truth: Not every symptom means something serious—but every change deserves attention.

If you notice a lump, skin changes, or something that just feels different, trust your instincts and get it checked.

Early evaluation = peace of mind (and in some cases, early detection).

Myth or fact—do you actually know the difference? 👀

When it comes to breast health, what you think you know can impact when (or if) you seek care.

Understanding the facts helps you stay proactive—not reactive.
