We're excited to welcome LaKimerly Coates, MD, FAAD to Riva Dermatology in Cornelius and Denver, NC!

Dr. Coates is a board-certified dermatologist, Mohs micrographic surgeon, and Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology with more than 25 years of experience providing medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatologic care. She is dedicated to delivering personalized, evidence-based treatment to help patients achieve healthy skin at every stage of life.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine, and her Doctor of Medicine degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Coates completed her dermatology residency at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

Her expertise includes skin cancer detection and treatment, including Mohs micrographic surgery, as well as the management of acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, and other conditions affecting the skin, hair, and nails. She also provides cosmetic dermatology services to help patients look and feel their best.

During our Tuesday staff meeting we had the honor to surprise our amazing office manager Cynthia with flowers, a card, and the much deserved KOALA Award.
She was awarded the KOALA Award for her leadership, guidance, and multiple erroneous jobs she takes on throughout the office on her own accord while making sure she consistently supports her staff. Whether it is a shoutout, ice cream social, or out of work activities, she always encourages the staff to be the best they can be and will always provide a listening ear while giving us her honest feedback. This award is no small feat and there is no one more deserving than her! CONGRATULATIONS CYNTHIA!🎉❤️
