As a part of Denver International Airport Diversity Week, DFX’s OT & Clinic in the Community (CiC) Coordinator Emily Rose presented on a panel for the Advancing Neuroinclusion at Work session this morning 👏 Thank you to the DEN EDI team for having us!

Our CiC program allows us to expand our care and expertise outside of the walls of our clinic through wraparound care, community partnerships, and capacity-building for educators. Our goal is to foster inclusive and supportive environments in all aspects of the child’s life.

October is about raising awareness and advocating for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). People who are non-speaking or have complex communication needs use AAC to express themselves, connect with others and participate in the world around them.

Creating engaged belonging at DFX means celebrating all forms of communication. We believe every way a person expresses themselves is valid, meaningful, and deserves to be seen!

Today on Indigenous Peoples' Day, we take a moment to honor the original homelands and territories of the Ute, Cheyenne, and Arapaho peoples that our Denver clinic resides on. DFX values the holistic and community-rooted approaches to care, wellness, and family support found in many Indigenous cultures. We encourage our community to join us in learning more about the Native history of Denver and supporting local Indigenous organizations.
