When an injury or an impact to the body occurs when the nervous system is in an activated state, the body responds to that impact or injury differently than if that same injury were to occur during a calm state. The injury gets stored in the body as a survival strategy until the person can get to safety. If we don’t pause and release when we get to safety, that emotion or nervous system state gets trapped in the tissues. CranioSacral Therapy can help release these stored emotions so you can regain access to the full function & vitality of those structures in the body.

Today’s “Tongue Tie” Cuplrit: The Digastric Muscle

4 week old Infant born via Cesarean after 7hrs of pushing presented with left head turn preference, painful & shallow latch and frequent audible clicks when feeding from both the bottle and the breast.

Pediatrician recognized oral disfunction and referred to Pediatric Dentist for Tongue Tie evaluation. ✅

Parents saw an IBCLC for a 2nd opinion ✅

2 IBCLCs confirmed proper Tongue Function: good lateralization & extension ✅

Baby exhibited signs of discomfort when supporting her chin during feedings so IBCLC referred the family CranioSacral Therapy ✅

Findings from our CST Feeding Clinic staffed by IBCLCs & CranioSacral Therapists:
Occiput in Torsion, C1 out of Alignment, 5th Facial Diaphragm twisted to the left, hyoid being pulled towards left ear, twist in left Digastric Muscle, Sphenoid in a right horizontal lesion, tension throughout pelvic diaphragm, baby was capable but gagged with a deep latch, chin tucked to left collarbone preventing a deep latch. ✅

After 2 Sessions, Baby is looking to both sides with ease and nursing with almost no clicking. ✅✅✅
