Staying hydrated during the summer is about more than just drinking water—it’s also about fueling your body with the right foods. ☀️💧

As temperatures rise, our registered dietitians remind everyone to:
🥤 Drink fluids throughout the day—don't wait until you're thirsty.
🍉 Eat water-rich fruits and vegetables like watermelon, peaches, grapes, and cucumbers.
🥗 Choose lighter, balanced meals to help your body handle the heat.
🏃 If you're active outdoors, increase your fluids and replenish with electrolytes when needed.

Knowing the signs of heat-related illness is just as important. Heavy sweating, dizziness, muscle cramps, nausea, and weakness can all be signs of heat exhaustion. If symptoms become severe or someone has a temperature of 103°F or higher, seek emergency medical care immediately.

A few simple habits can help you stay safe, healthy, and active all summer long.

Saint Joseph Hospital is proud to support Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Bank Circle of Light Photo Project. The project features photographs taken by people whose sight has been restored through eye tissue transplants, primarily corneal transplants. It highlights the life-changing impact of eye donation in our communities.

The project also supports the Eye Bank’s mission by encouraging others to give the gift of eye, organ, and tissue donation. Through their photos, eye tissue transplant recipients share the beauty of the world they can now see. The Circle of Light Photos will be available to view in Saint Joseph Hospital's main lobby through August 3.

We are so proud of Sarah and Tristin, two of Saint Joe’s amazing new graduate nurses, for completing Intermountain Health’s Nurse Residency program! The Nurse Residency is a structured, evidence-based, yearlong transition-to-practice program that provides new nurses with mentorship, education, and hands-on experience to complement unit orientation and preceptorship. Residency builds competence, confidence, and long-term success in the nursing role. Tristin and Sarah presented their evidence-based practice final project to our leaders and their peers, and they knocked it out of the park! We celebrate and congratulate them for all their hard work and for their commitment to providing the best care for our patients.
