Growth happens everywhere.

This summer, Mount Saint Vincent students have spent time exploring the community through recreational therapy, outdoor activities, and field trips that support confidence, social skills, emotional regulation, and healthy relationships.

For many children, these experiences are about so much more than a day away from campus. Whether they're visiting the local museums, trying something new, or connecting with peers, they're practicing coping skills, building confidence, and discovering that the world can be a safe, welcoming place.

Every adventure is an opportunity to learn, grow, and take another step forward on their healing journey.

Happy birthday Colorado! Today we celebrate Colorado's 150 years of resilience.

On August 1, 1876 President Ulysses S. Grant signed the proclamation that made Colorado the 38th U.S. state. Just seven years after that, on February 15, 1883, Mount Saint Vincent would open it's doors to serve the children and families of our great state.

For nearly as long as Colorado has called itself a state, Mount Saint Vincent has been proud to call Colorado home. Like the state itself, we've grown through generations of change while remaining committed to serving our communities with resilience, compassion, and purpose. For 143 years, we've stood alongside Colorado's children and families, healing beyond trauma into a healthy and hopeful future.

At Mount Saint Vincent, our caregivers see the incredible potential in every child they serve.

When asked what she wishes people outside of Mount Saint Vincent knew, Special Education Teacher Joanne Griego shared:

"Our students are so much more than their diagnoses, behaviors, or past experiences. They are incredibly resilient, funny, intelligent, creative, and deserving of love and opportunity." ❤️

Every day, Joanne helps create a classroom where children are encouraged to learn, grow, and discover their strengths. Her compassion and belief in every student's potential reflect the heart of Mount Saint Vincent's mission.

Thank you, Joanne, for seeing the whole child and helping each student feel valued, supported, and empowered. đź’™

We’re excited to kick off the first stop of our student art tour at Platte Valley, where a collection of artwork created by children at Mount Saint Vincent is now on display.

These pieces represent so much more than artistic talent. They reflect courage, growth, imagination, and the healing journeys of children who are discovering their strengths and finding their voices.

The exhibit will remain at Platte Valley through the end of this week before moving on to Good Samaritan. Stop by while you can and experience the creativity, resilience, and hope captured in each piece.

Every artwork tells a story. Come see them before they're gone.

A great book can spark imagination, teach important life lessons, and create memories that last a lifetime. That's why we're asking some of our caregivers to share their favorite children's books!

This week, we're featuring Ms. Fay, preschool lead teacher in our Early Learning Center.

Her pick? Pete the Cat & His Four Groovy Buttons by Eric Litwin and James Dean. đź’™

"The kids love it because it's sing-song, easy to memorize, and encourages participation. It also teaches counting, colors, kindness, sharing, and even helps children learn to regulate their emotions."

Do you have a favorite children's book? Share it in the comments—we'd love to add it to our reading list! 📖✨
