For Plan Year 2027 (PY27), we are updating the renewal process and customer notices to support a shorter Open Enrollment (OE) period and improve the overall customer experience.
Renewal-eligible customers will now be automatically re-enrolled before the start of OE, eliminating the staging period used in previous years.
Customers will continue to have the ability to review and change their plans throughout the full OE period (Nov. 1 – Dec. 31, 2026), after they have been automatically re-enrolled. Customers excluded from being automatically re-enrolled will continue to receive a renewals exclusion notice so they know they were excluded.
Customers eligible for auto re-enrollment will receive a simpler notice that clearly confirms their renewal status and highlights important enrollment details.
Because enrollments will be active at the start of OE, customers may reach out to their Assister or Broker earlier during OE than in previous years with questions about plan options and costs.
