Psychotherapy doesn’t always have to happen from a chair.
This September, I’m opening appointments for **equine-assisted psychotherapy and nature-based therapy at Stable Minds**.
This is psychotherapy that intentionally incorporates both **equine interactions and principles of ecotherapy** into the therapeutic process. The natural environment gives us opportunities to slow down, notice what is happening internally, reconnect with our senses, and step outside the patterns that can be difficult to see within four walls. Horses add another dimension—they are highly responsive to subtle changes in body language, attention, emotion, and nervous-system arousal, allowing us to notice some of those patterns as they happen.
There is no riding, and you don't need any experience with horses. Depending on your goals, sessions may include observing the herd, interacting with horses from outside their pasture, walking the property, mindfulness and grounding practices, or simply doing meaningful therapeutic work outdoors.
We may explore boundaries, relationships, trust, emotional regulation, resilience, identity, life transitions, or the patterns that keep showing up in your life.
**It’s not about learning how to work with horses. It’s about creating another way to understand yourself.**
Stable Minds is located in east-central Indiana, approximately one hour south of Fort Wayne and 40 minutes north of Fishers.
*****************************************************************Because these sessions are intentionally designed to provide a private, highly individualized therapeutic experience, only a very limited number of equine-assisted and nature-based psychotherapy appointments are offered each month.
If you're interested in exploring whether this approach may be a good fit for you, I invite you to schedule a private consultation.
