Today, on the 25th Anniversary of September 11, 2001, we pause to remember.

We honor the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost, the families forever changed, and the courageous first responders, service members, and everyday heroes who demonstrated extraordinary bravery in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

As we reflect on this day, may we remember the power of unity, compassion, service, and love for one another. In moments of darkness, we are reminded that hope can still shine brightly.

At Inner City Health, we join our community and our nation in remembering those we lost and honoring those who continue to serve.

We will never forget. 🇺🇸❤️

💚 While his board service started last year, we wanted to make sure we acknowledged the gift of having Jeff Johnsen as a member of the Board of Directors for Inner City Health... 💚

Jeff Johnson has been the Executive Director of Mile High Ministries (MHM) since its founding in 1988. Jeff and his wife Heidi raised their kids, and now their grandkids, on the East side. Jeff is an ordained member of the Street Psalms Community, an international communion of leaders called to seek peace and the underlying unity of all things within the rich diversity of our urban contexts. MHM has just opened a new affordable housing community across the street from ICH called Clara Brown Commons.

To know Jeff is to experience compassion, visionary leadership, humility, optimism, and a deep sense of faith that changes you deeply. His leadership and service to our city and beyond is immeasurable. We are so grateful and blessed to have him serve on our board.

David Dodge is a finance and real estate executive with more than 20 years of experience leading financial strategy, operational excellence, and affordable housing initiatives. Throughout his career, he has partnered with nonprofit organizations and executive leadership teams to strengthen financial sustainability, oversee complex capital projects, and support long-term organizational growth. David brings extensive expertise in budgeting, financial planning, real estate asset management, and board governance, with a passion for expanding access to affordable housing and community development. His strategic leadership, financial acumen, and commitment to serving underserved communities make him a valued member of the Inner City Health Board of Directors.

David is a dynamic, thoughtful, and deeply reflective leader whose had tremendous impact across our state.

🎊 Kyle Hanlan is an Assistant Vice President at PNC with a background in commercial banking, lending, and financial management. He brings expertise in budgeting, organizational sustainability, and strategic financial planning, along with a passion for helping mission-driven organizations achieve long-term success. In addition to his banking career, Kyle serves as Treasurer for The Urban Development and as Head Freshman Basketball Coach at Cherry Creek High School, reflecting his commitment to leadership, mentorship, and community service. His financial expertise, servant leadership, and dedication to strengthening the Denver community make him a valued member of the Inner City Health Board of Directors. 🎊

He is a servant leader and man of many talents. We are so thankful for your service to Inner City Health and our community.

Melissa Mixon is a visionary nonprofit executive with more than 12 years of experience leading strategic initiatives that drive economic mobility, leadership development, and community impact. She currently serves as Vice President of Legacy at CrossPurpose, where she oversees programs that help individuals build financial stability and long-term wealth while leading cross-functional teams and organizational growth. Melissa is also the founder and president of an international nonprofit focused on community and economic development, bringing extensive experience in fundraising, strategic partnerships, and program innovation. Her passion for empowering people, developing leaders, and creating sustainable change makes her a valuable member of the Inner City Health Board of Directors.

She is a powerhouse leader in the city of Denver and across the world.

Today we honor the life, legacy, and prophetic witness of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.—a reminder that justice, love, and service are not passive ideals, but daily responsibilities. Dr. King called us to see the dignity in every person and to stand in the gap for those most often overlooked.
