For the past several months, I have been completely and obsessively consumed with creating the music and movement for POWER, our next KINVOKE M3 Movement Journey release.
I've obsessed over every song, every lyric, every beat, even the tiniest details, tweaking and reworking until I could feel the sounds enliven every move.
I've danced to unfinished versions in my kitchen, my closet, my mind and my car (car-e-ography)! Taken them into my classes. Changed the music after moving to it. Changed the movement after listening again.
And through all of that, POWER started asking something deeper of me.
"Where does power live in me?"
I kept coming back to the center, the gut.
Before the expression, the voice, the movement.
There is breath.
There are feet on the ground.
There is a knowing in our center.
And when I began creating from there, my own understanding of power started changing too.
One of the lyrics that emerged from all of this was:
"My body knew it all along.”
And then a quote I always loved danced its way into this work that I can't stop thinking about:
"What happens when the love of power becomes the power of love?"
That question opened another door entirely.
Because power can move through the heart.
Through connection, presence, receiving, feeling.
Through the way we can meet one another while staying deeply rooted in ourselves.
POWER eventually became a 14-song journey through all of it.
Awakening.
Grounding.
Knowing.
Reclaiming.
Voice.
Rhythm.
Embodiment.
Expansion.
Connection.
Listening.
Rooting.
Remembering.
And somehow, while I was creating the music and movement, I was living my own version of that journey right alongside it.
This has become some of the deepest work I have created.
And now we are getting ready to share POWER with you as KINVOKE's next M3.
I cannot wait for you to hear it, move it, and remember it.
