This is the type of person who probably wouldn't be signing up for any class with me personally anyway but also teaching the FSS course isn't political. Is it a shame that it's currently a legal requirement? Oh absolutely! However if myself and other instructors refuse to teach the course it doesn't bother the state at all! Much like the Sheriff’s Departments who are refusing to issue the eligibility cards, its their constitutes who suffer and are bothered, neither the state nor the county nor the Sheriff’s Department suffers one little bit. If you want to refuse to take the class for any reason that's absolutely your right and im certainly not requiring anyone to take the course, but I am offering it so those who DO want to purchase a r***e are able to legally do so.
We can argue all day long about whether requiring a CHP is legal or if it's a constitutional violation but the Colorado law requires a class, with a live fire portion, and a passing percentage and they have upped the required training which frankly I agree with. You should BE REQUIRED to show that you can safely handle and shoot a fi***rm which you intend to carry in public and you SHOULD know the laws and ramifications of carrying and or using a fi***rm. I am on the side of safety AND training and it's been discovered there are a great many people who took a gun show ccw class 10 years ago and they've been carrying a gun they've never taken to the range, never practiced with, never trained with and frankly that's terrifying.
Anyway, take the course or dont but comments like this will likely get you both blocked and added to another list titled “Do Not Teach” 🤷♀️
