Healing doesn't always feel like healing. Sometimes it just looks like one small thing you did differently. Saying no, knowing how you feel, asking for help that's the work. You're doing it even when it doesn't look like much.

Getting sober doesn't fix everything, it just means you have to face everything you spent years running from. In this video I'm talking about the real work that starts after the milestone. The grief, the trauma, the self-esteem, all of it still waiting on the other side. Follow for honest recovery conversations. My ebooks are linked above.

I lost 20 years. My youth. My health. My peace. And I still have to wake up every day and build something new while carrying everything addiction left behind. That's the part nobody warns you about. Recovery isn't just getting sober — it's facing what's gone and deciding to keep going anyway. If you're healing from the years addiction took from you, you're not alone. I see you. Follow along.

Guilt and shame feel similar but they are not the same thing. Guilt says I did something bad. Shame says I am something bad. One can drive change. The other just keeps you stuck. Knowing the difference is a big deal in recovery.

The first time I picked up a cane I cried. It felt like losing a piece of myself. Then I realized refusing help I actually needed was just suffering for no reason. Recovery taught me to ask for help. My body taught me the same lesson.

Shame doesn't always look like crying in the corner. Sometimes it looks like perfectionism, isolation, and that constant feeling of not being enough. These are the three signs it's still running your life — and the first step is just recognizing it.

Forgiving yourself isn't a one-time thing. It's a choice you make on your hardest days. Over and over again. 💛

Sobriety doesn't hand you confidence. It just removes what you were using to fake it. The real work is learning to trust yourself again — and that takes time, repetition, and a whole lot of grace. If you've been sober and still don't feel confident, this is why.

Recovery isn’t just about getting sober—it’s about becoming the version of yourself your children deserved all along.

For a long time, I thought I was doing my best. And honestly, I was. But recovery taught me that my best at that time wasn’t enough to create the life I truly wanted for myself and my family.

Getting sober forced me to grow, heal, and step into a version of myself I didn’t even know existed. A stronger woman. A present mom. A person my kids needed all along.

Recovery is deeper than physical sobriety. Emotional relapse can happen quietly through shame, isolation, and survival mode thinking. In this video,I’m sharing why emotional healing is necessary for lasting recovery and why I wrote The Messy Middle for women navigating that journey.
