He played the mandolin while surgeons operated on his brain. 🎶🧠

Conner Carver, 29, has fought epilepsy with surgeries, implants and medications. This month, Denver Health neurosurgeon Dr. Fabio Grassia removed a lesion in Conner's brain that contributed to his seizures. Conner stayed awake and played the instrument to protect his musical abilities.

A recent lifesaving emergency response demonstrated the power of collaboration and quick action by public safety partners as Denver 911, Denver Department of Public Safety, Denver Fire Department, Denver Health Paramedics and our emergency medical teams worked together to save a patient's life.

The teams recently gathered to recognize the first responders whose efforts made this incredible outcome possible.

👏 Special thanks to:

- Denver 911 call taker Grecia Ruano Corona, who answered the emergency call and provided CPR instructions to the caller.
- Denver Fire Engine 6, including Lt. Jason Brewer, Nicholous Parks, Philip Cagle and David Anthony, who responded and delivered lifesaving defibrillation.
- Denver Health paramedics, including Lt. Liz Ackerman, Railey Zantop-Zimlinghaus and Emilie Thurston, who provided advanced life support and transported the patient to Denver Health for continued care by our medical teams.

This remarkable outcome is a testament to the dedication, skill and coordination of our emergency response teams. Thank you to everyone involved for your commitment to saving lives and keeping our community safe. 💙
