Another meaningful Days of Celebration employee appreciation week has come to a close. ✨

Our final celebrations included the annual ice cream social, a night shift buffet for our overnight teams and an employee appreciation lunch served by Denver Health leaders. Throughout the week, teams across our health system came together to connect, celebrate and recognize the incredible dedication, compassion and teamwork that make our community so special.

A new home for trusted care in southeast Denver. 💙

Denver Health’s new Southeast Medical Center is now open at 6360 E. Evans Ave., bringing primary care and expanding specialty services closer to home for adult patients.

The health center is currently accepting Denver Health primary care patients, with availability opening to new primary care patients over the summer. Specialty care services are set to expand by the end of this year.

✨ We are proud to join health systems across the country for Hospitals Against Violence Friday, a national awareness initiative led by the American Hospital Association to help prevent violence in health care settings and communities.

Workplace violence in hospitals and health systems is a public health issue. Through awareness, prevention, and partnership, Denver Health remains committed to promoting peace and fostering a safe environment for our employees, patients, and community. 💙

As part of broader efforts across our health system, Denver Health’s Firearm Safety Collaborative is advancing work to prevent gun violence and promote firearm safety.

Ben Varga’s life changed in an instant when he was shot while walking in Washington Park last year. After weeks at Denver Health, nearly 10 surgeries and a long recovery, Ben will be one of the former patients speaking at the fourth annual Denver Health Trauma Survivors Fun Run this Saturday, June 6. 💙

Join Denver Health employees and community members from 8 to 11 a.m. at Berkeley Lake Park to celebrate survivors like Ben and the medical teams who made their recoveries possible. Run a 5K, walk or wheel along a 1-mile route, or come cheer on survivors at this free, family-friendly event.

On the go with our CEO! 👟 ✨

As our annual Days of Celebration employee appreciation week continues, team members across Denver Health came together for a unique opportunity to connect, enjoy a walk and engage in meaningful conversations with CEO Donna Lynne and colleagues throughout our health system.

The walk was followed by a moment of mindfulness with a yoga class led by our Well-being Committee, giving employees a chance to stretch, reset and enjoy a well-deserved midweek pause.

Prioritizing employee health and wellness is part of how we care for the teams who care for our community every day. Days of Celebration is a special time to celebrate them and all they do to make Denver Health exceptional. 💙

Attendees heard remarks from Denver Health leaders and our Pride ERG, and enjoyed a pop-up performance by Take Note!, a Denver Feminist Chorus ensemble.

B.E. F.A.S.T. It could save a life. 💙

May is , an important initiative from the American Heart Association to spread awareness about the signs of stroke and the importance of acting quickly. Stroke is a medical emergency, and fast action can make a critical difference in survival and recovery.

Denver Health’s Chief of Urgent Care, Lindsey Fish, MD, joined CBS Colorado to explain the warning signs of stroke and why calling 911 right away is so important.

After a traumatic car crash in 2020, Garritte Hitchens was rushed to Denver Health, where she received life-saving care from our Level 1 trauma team. ✨

Originally born at our hospital and cared for here during one of the most difficult times in her life, Garritte says the compassion, dignity and respect she felt from her care team “solidified Denver Health in my heart forever.” While the road to recovery is never an easy one, she continues to build strength through ongoing care, her family and coaching Girls on the Run of the Rockies, where she helps young girls build confidence one step at a time.

This Saturday, June 6, she will take another step forward alongside other survivors, families, caregivers and community members at our Trauma Survivors Fun Run. Join us to hear powerful stories from Garritte and other trauma survivors while celebrating hope, healing and recovery. 💙
