Could your feet be setting you up for **hip or back pain** without you even knowing it? 👣

The way your feet move with every step affects the rest of your body. When that movement isn't quite right, the stress can travel up through your ankles, knees, hips, and lower back.

In this video, Dr. Drew Taft explains the two most common foot mechanics that can throw your body out of alignment:

👣 **Overpronation (flat feet):** Your arches roll inward, changing the way your knees and hips move.

👣 **Supination (high arches):** Your feet stay too rigid, making it harder to absorb shock with each step.

Here's a quick tip: Take a look at your shoes. If the **outside heel wears down much faster** than the rest of the sole, you may be supinating.

🎥 Watch the video to learn how your feet influence your entire body—and what you can do to keep your joints moving comfortably.

"If I get custom orthotics, will I have to wear them forever?" 👣

It's one of the most common questions Dr. Drew Taft hears—and the answer might surprise you.

The truth is, not everyone needs custom orthotics for life. For some people, they're a long-term solution for structural foot problems. For others, they're a temporary tool that helps reduce pain while improving strength, flexibility, and movement.

In this video, Dr. Taft explains:
✔ When custom orthotics make sense
✔ When over-the-counter insoles may be enough
✔ Whether orthotics can weaken your feet (hint: they don't!)
✔ How to know which option is right for you

🎥 Watch the video to separate fact from fiction and make a more informed decision about your foot health.

Not all hammer toes are treated the same way — and the single most important factor is whether your toe is still flexible or has become rigid. Dr. Drew Taft of Foot & Ankle Associates of Southern New Hampshire explains the difference and why this determines whether you can avoid surgery.

If your toe is still moveable, you have more options than you think.

Could your feet be the hidden reason your **knee, hip, or lower back hurts?** 👣

Most people never think to check their feet—but they should. Small problems with the way your feet move can affect your entire body.

In this video, Dr. Drew Taft shares **two simple tests you can do at home** to see if your feet may be throwing your body's alignment off:
👟 Check the wear pattern on your shoes.
🦵 Try a quick single-leg squat test.

If these tests point to poor foot mechanics, don't worry—it's often very treatable. Sometimes supportive footwear is enough. In other cases, a custom orthotic can provide the support your feet need to help restore proper alignment and reduce stress on your knees, hips, and back.

🎥 Watch the video to see how the tests work and learn whether your feet could be the missing piece of the puzzle.
