Strength training can play an important role in knee health. Building strength in the muscles surrounding the knee, including the quadriceps, hamstrings, and glutes, can provide greater support and stability during everyday movement and physical activity.

The key is using proper form, progressing gradually, and choosing exercises appropriate for your fitness level.

🤠 A great afternoon of learning at Dr. Bubba’s Pediatric Round Up!

Last week, we were excited to welcome healthcare professionals to a free educational seminar led by our pediatric orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Stephen “Bubba” Carveth, and physician assistant Sarah Kehoe!

Attendees explored important pediatric orthopedic topics, including limping in children, overuse injuries in young athletes, and pediatric fracture management, while earning continuing education credits.

Thank you to all the pediatricians, family medicine providers, physical therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals who joined us! We appreciate the opportunity to share knowledge and support those caring for children in our community.

Iowa Ortho offers two advanced MRI options in Des Moines and in Waukee, making it easy to match each patient with the right MRI for their needs. From comfort-focused open MRI to high-speed imaging, every exam delivers high-quality imaging and trusted results.

Outside referrals are welcome! You don’t need to be an Iowa Ortho patient to have your imaging done with us. Simply have your provider send your MRI order directly to Iowa Ortho.
