We are SO proud to have been a part of this!

Anchor & Oak Therapy Co.

📣 THIS IS NOT A DRILL: We have SMASHED our $250,000 fundraising goal and have raised $254,100!!!

We cannot say enough how grateful we are for this. Every dollar raised goes back to PSI and its chapters so that the parents who are struggling with their mental health and need resources and support can get them.

So now the only question is....what should our new goal be? 🤔

SHAME DOES NOT WORK. I will spend my entire career helping women unlearn this. And I’m happy to do it!

So much of the work I do can be summarized by this simple pattern:
-build a strong rapport
-challenge perspectives and ideas (especially about self)
-sit with the resistance to that challenge
-celebrate the shift that comes when they start to believe things can be different
-intense satisfaction when they treat themselves better as a result🙌🏼

And I love a bit of aggressive sarcasm myself 🤣

If you or someone close to you has ADHD, you know this to be true. It’s also the piece that is usually most disruptive to relationships and self-esteem. It’s also, ironically, not part of the criteria for diagnosing ADHD. That needs to change.

I refer my clients to Brittni regularly for women’s health concerns 👏🏼

Because the number of times I hear women normalize the abuse and neglect they experience within their marriage has made it clear this is a systemic problem, not an individual one.

Not a bad view for a Tuesday. My to do list (and my caseload) is full, I have some exciting plans with friends and family in the near future, and I’m grateful for all of it. I’m as busy as I’ve ever been, making more than I ever have, while feeling as creative, energized, and fulfilled as ever. Private practice is exactly what I hoped it would be.

It's been a while...but we're back!

The winter blues have officially arrived and we've both been busy working with our clients to manage their symptoms. It's no coincidence that our schedules stay extra full from November through March, when people are struggling most because of the lack of sunlight and the brutal cold that occurs in the Midwest. If you've had or are experiencing symptoms of Seasonal Affective Disorder, or SAD (aka winter blues, seasonal depression), you'll find this next episode valuable. And while talking about depression can be...well, depressing...we touch on some more enjoyable parts of the winter season, or the things that we try to do to make it more enjoyable.

You'll learn that for me one of things I've been enjoying most, and has helped keep those SAD symptoms at bay, is a great new playlist. And let's just say that if you were a 90's kid, you might want to know exactly what playlist I'm talking about.

Episode 23 drops Sunday, January 11th at 10am CST: The Unfiltered Therapists Podcast on Apple, Spotify, etc.
