This is not just a coffee mug.
It's kind of a treasure.
Before I was teaching at and before I was teaching at I owned a studio.
It was a simple, beautiful, special space.
We had a water dispenser for hot or cold water.
✔️No disposable cups.
We had some fun 🙂cartoon plastic cups for our little yogis, small glasses from IKEA, and about a dozen of these mugs from Target.
Nothing special. ☕️
But they served a purpose.
I would bring the used cups home, wash them, and bring them back to the studio.
Over, and over. Again and again.
Then 2020 happened. And we closed.
And it was hard.
And I donated SOOOO much stuff from the studio.
🪑Shared furniture, sold bolsters, passed along lamps and decorations etc.
But I held on to a few things.
To me, this mug is like an artifact.
A treasure from a chapter long ago.
When I drink from this mug now at home, I am reminded of so many late nights chatting on the couch at the studio.
Sharing stories, struggles, heartbreak, secrets over tea after class.
This coffee cup is a relic.
✨️ I absolutely love the chapter I am in right now. I am honestly TEACHING more yoga *now* that I don't own a yoga studio!
But I like to drink from this mug, and embrace the nostalgia. It was a meaningful part of my story, and take steps forward knowing I am supported by gratitude.
Grateful for every sunrise, and every sunset.
Grateful for doors that open and doors that close.
Grateful for every inhale and every exhale.
💗Cheers!☮️
