𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗱𝗲𝘀: I am a full spectrum doula and childbirth educator. I became a doula in 2020 after having two high-risk pregnancies & being encouraged by my midwife to become an advocate for other moms. My background is in observational pregnancy research, addressing the risk factors for preterm birth in Black women.

My favorite modern convenience is cordless devices! Y'all remember when everything was attached to cords? Whew. What a time!

✨How do you ease fear or concerns in clients?
I ease fear or concerns from clients with the truth. I remind them that their bodies were meant to do this amazing thing called birth and they have everything inside them that they need to get through it.

MICHIGAN!! It was just announced that the Michigan Dept of Health & Human Services has proposed policy change to include doulas under Medicaid coverage.

Policy Highlights:
📝Coverage for 6 prenatal & postpartum visits @ $75
📝Coverage for attending labor and delivery @ $350
📝Potential for a statewide doula registry, ongoing educational opportunities
📝Training for peer recovery doulas serving those with substance use disorders
