Let’s learn how to make postpartum padsicles🧊

What you will need:
- extra long pads
- aloe vera gel
- witch hazel

Pour about 2-4 tablespoons of witch hazel right onto the pad. Next, pour some aloe vera down the entire length of the pad. Once on, use a clean & washed back of a spoon to spread the aloe so it creates a layer on the entire pad. Finally, you will just refold and wrap up the pad and freeze!

Place the padsicle in your postpartum undies/diapers for 15-30 minutes every 2-4 hours for cold compression therapy. Cold compression therapy during your immediate postpartum can help reduce pain, swelling and itching!

Bringing home your second child while having a toddler can be a little nerve wracking sometimes 🧑‍🧑‍🧒🤰 And sometimes, parents don’t even think about it until close to their due date! Here are a few things that could help your toddler understand what’s going on and teach them a little about their new sibling before they arrive.

🧸 Buy them a baby doll - No matter if you have a little girl or a little boy, buy them a baby doll! First introducing a baby doll can help them understand what’s their baby brother or sister will look like. Teach them to be careful, use a bottle maybe, how to hold the baby, etc. with the baby doll. Most children work better with visuals just like adults.

🤰 Let them feel your belly- Especially when baby is being active and kicking! It can help them put two and two together when you tell them there is a baby in mommy’s tummy.

🖼️ 📕Pictures & Books - Show your toddler your ultrasound pictures or get them a book! Going back to the visuals with pictures and books! Amazon has a great selection of books for your toddler about being a big brother or big sister.

👧🧒 Emphasize their new role - Besides telling them they’re going to be a big brother or big sister, tell them how exciting it will be! Focus on how exciting and special it will be. Use positive reinforcement with them and you can use the baby doll as well to help with this. Showing them how they can or will be included in daily tasks with helping with the new baby can help make them excited!

🗣️ Be honest - Answer their questions honestly. No matter your parenting style and how open you want to be with your child, be honest with your answers to their questions. It’s their first time just like it’s yours!

Remember, you’re going to do great mom! Be patient with yourself just like you are with your child💖

Wanna hire a doula but don’t know where to start?

Checklist time!📋🤰

During Pregnancy 🤰

~ Look up local birth groups online & on Facebook to join
~ Consider making a post about your need for a doula
~ Ask friends who’ve given birth if they hired a doula & if they liked them
~ Ask your medical provider for recommendations
~ Make a list of the doulas you think would fit your needs
~ Narrow your list to at least 3 doulas you want to meet with
~ Schedule a time to meet with each of them
~ Make a list of questions to ask potential doulas
~ As soon as you decide on a doula, contact her to secure your due date
~ Sign contract and pay the deposit (if they require one)
~ Schedule your prenatal appointments with the doula
~ Stay in contact and ask any questions as needed
~ Book additional services such as birth classes or a massage
~ Pay your doula in full by 36 weeks
~ Send your doula a copy of your birth plan by 36 weeks

After Birth 👩‍🍼

~ Contact your doula within a week of having baby to schedule your postpartum visit
~ Continue to stay in touch by phone or email with any questions

With the rebranding of the business, I figured it would be perfect to reintroduce myself!🌸

Blossom Birth & Wellness means so much to me. In April of 2022, I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). I had never heard of it before and did all the research I possibly could. One thing that really scared me about PCOS was that there is a chance that having children could be difficult. As I am finding my way through different things to help balance my hormones and regulate my body, I have come across so many things that I would love to share with other women who are living with PCOS as well💖

And that is how Blossom Birth & Wellness was born🌷 My mission is to make sure that women and their families feel supported in one of the most transitional periods of their lives and helping women learn about their bodies without feeling the pressure to jump into medications.

Even though Blossom Birth & Wellness is focused on the doula aspect of the business at the moment🤰, we have big plans for the coming future 👀🔥
