Today is not just another New Moon.
The New Moon in Leo arrives with a Total Solar Eclipse, while the Perseid Meteor Shower reaches its peak beneath one of the darkest skies of the year. 🌑🔥✨
A darkened Sun. A New Moon. A sky raining stars.
Something is shifting.
Leo is often reduced to confidence, charisma and being seen. But its deepest symbolism is the heart. The part of you that creates, loves and expresses itself before asking whether anyone approves.
We all begin that way.
And then life teaches us which parts of ourselves earn love, belonging or safety, and which parts are better hidden. We adapt. We become who we think we need to be.
Until one day, we can no longer tell the difference between who we are and who we learned to be.
Perhaps that is the deeper invitation of this eclipse.
Not only:
What do you want to manifest?
But:
Who are you becoming?
What have you outgrown?
What part of you is ready to return?
And I love the thought of Father Sun and Grandmother Moon meeting in the sky today. For a brief moment, two forces that shape our days, nights, tides and rhythms come together, while the world beneath them is invited to become still.
In different Indigenous traditions, eclipses have been regarded as sacred times for stillness, prayer and reflection. Some traditions encourage staying inside rather than gathering to watch the eclipse: turning away from the spectacle outside and toward what is happening within.
I think there is something powerful in honoring that today.
Whether the eclipse is visible where you live or not, you don’t have to chase this moment.
Turn down the noise.
Go inward.
Listen.
Not every cosmic event needs to be watched.
Some are meant to be felt.
Something is ending.
Something is beginning.
And this is your rising. 🦁🌑🔥
