Kaplan is in the “family business.” For more than four decades, he has served tens of thousands of patients in and around the city of Detroit, providing the best in foot and ankle care and surgery. Dr. Kaplan is carrying on the proud legacy his father, Dr. Earl Kaplan, one of the founding fathers of podiatry, who first opened the office on Gratiot Avenue, just north of 7 Mile Road, back in 1943. D
r. Kaplan’s two brothers are also podiatrists.
“If your feet hurt, you hurt all over,” Dr. Kaplan says. “I love the people and the patients I see. My number one goal is to help them heal, relieve the discomfort in their feet, and make them feel happy and productive again.”
Since 1972, Dr. Kaplan has provided patients with professional, compassionate medical care. He is a graduate of Cumberland University and the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Kaplan completed his post-graduate surgical residency at Grand Community Hospital. Our goal is to make every visit as comfortable and informative as possible and to literally get our patients back on their feet. Dr. Kaplan is one of the area’s most experienced podiatrists. He is a past president of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, the largest surgical college in the country. He has also worked for decades to share his expertise with young doctors, training them to follow in his footsteps. Please feel free to call our office with any questions. We look forward to assisting you!
