Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP)medication greatly reduces the chance of getting HIV from s*x or injection drug use. If you don’t have HIV but are at risk, PrEP can help you stay free from HIV. See the Figure below. PrEP can be pills or shots. PrEP medications include Truvada, Descovy, and Apretude. PrEP can stop HIV from spreading throughout your body. PrEP protects you against HIV. IPH is located at 9053 Woodward Ave, Detroit, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Call 313-3099350 ext. 2 for more information on HIV testing, PrEP, PEP, and treatment.

The National Health Center Week is August 2-8, 2026. This year’s theme is Building Innovative Care Where It Matters Most. Institute for Population Health (IPH) Detroit will have a 2026 Back to School Health Fair on August 14, 2026, from 10:00 am -2:00 pm at 19830 James Couzens Fwy, Detroit, MI 48235. Back to School Immunization. IPH services include General Primary Care, Immunizations (Vaccines for Children & Adults Program), Women’s Health and Gynecological care, COVID Testing and Vaccine, STD Testing and treatment, HIV testing, Prevention and Treatment, Health Screenings, Health Education and Well Child Services. IPH is located at 9053 Woodward Ave, Detroit, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Call 313-3099350 ext. 2 for more information.
