This week, we're shining a spotlight on Zoe Haynes, a patient of Detroit Caring Dentistry since 2010!

Exciting news — this upcoming Fall, Zoe will be heading to the University of Rochester in New York after graduating from Cass Tech with amazing results from her senior year! She'll be majoring in Biology with a minor in Engineering, and she'll also be joining the girls' soccer team.

We are so incredibly proud of Zoe and can't wait until her next appointment so we can catch up on all the exciting new adventures she'll experience on the East Coast!

Detroit Caring Dentistry is thrilled to celebrate Makenzie, who just graduated with honors from Farmington High School! Makenzie has been part of our patient family since she was a toddler, and we couldn't be prouder of everything she's accomplished.

Beyond the classroom, Makenzie is fluent in French, loves reading, and has a real passion for working with kids — this summer she's serving as a camp counselor at Camp Africa, hosted by the Charles H. Wright Museum.

This fall, Makenzie heads to Hampton University to study political science, with her sights set on law school and, eventually, a judgeship. We have no doubt she'll have endless success in her field!

These two aren't just long-time patients and friends of Dr. Hill and the entire team; they're also high school friends who recently found their way back to each other for a beautiful second chapter. Norman, an IT Enterprise Architect, and Beth, a dedicated healthcare provider, first met over twenty-eight years ago! Congratulations to the happy couple, who celebrated their honeymoon with a getaway to beautiful Mackinac Island.

Norman and Beth's story is a wonderful reminder that it's never too late for love, laughter, and new beginnings. The entire team at Detroit Caring Dentistry wishes them a lifetime of laughter, fun, and good times together. Leslie has consistently shared how wonderful her experience has been, and she deeply appreciates the personalized care and attention Dr. Hill provides at every visit. During her most recent appointment, our team had the pleasure of catching up with Leslie and hearing all about her summer, and we were delighted by what she shared.

Leslie is entering her final year of graduate school, where she is pursuing a dual Master of Business Administration and Master of Public Policy at Harvard University. Upon completing her studies, she hopes to pursue a career in nonprofit management, with a focus on serving urban and underserved communities. Ciara has been a valued member of our dental family for the past two years, consistently bringing a bright and inspiring energy to our office. We are thrilled to celebrate her recent graduation from University Prep Science & Math High School near Wayne State University, marking the completion of an outstanding high school career.

As a true Detroit scholar, Ciara is now preparing for her next chapter at Henry Ford College, where she plans to pursue a degree in social work to serve and uplift her community. Dr. Hill and the entire team at Detroit Caring Dentistry are incredibly proud of her achievements, fully support her academic endeavors, and genuinely wish her the absolute best as she continues to achieve greatness.

At Detroit Caring Dentistry, we are immensely proud to feature Dr. Isadora Porter-Hill as our Patient of the Week. A Detroit native, Dr. Porter-Hill has dedicated her academic and professional journey to the field of medicine and the service of others. She earned her undergraduate degree from Spelman College in 2013, followed by her medical degree from the Wayne State University School of Medicine in 2023. Having recently completed her residency in Family Medicine at Henry Ford St. John Hospital, she stands as a testament to hard work, leadership, and a profound commitment to healthcare excellence within our community.

Now a Board-Certified Family Medicine Physician, Dr. Porter-Hill is preparing to bring her expertise and compassion to the medical team at Henry Ford Brownstown. She remains deeply passionate about comprehensive patient care, with a particular focus on and dedication to women’s health initiatives. It is an absolute privilege for Detroit Caring Dentistry to care for the smiles of dedicated healthcare leaders like Dr. Porter-Hill. Please join us in giving a massive round of applause to our absolute rockstar of a patient, Alexandria Schooley! Alexandria has been a cherished part of our dental family for over 15 years, and watching her grow up has been an absolute joy. While going to the dentist isn't everyone's favorite chore, over the last decade and a half, Alexandria completely flipped the script; she is one of our amazing patients who truly learned to love getting her teeth cleaned in our friendly, welcoming environment. We always look forward to seeing her bright smile light up our office!

The news gets even better because Alexandria just graduated from Nursing School and officially passed her NCLEX exam, making her a Registered Nurse! Whooohooo! 🩺🥳 We could not be prouder of her incredible hard work and dedication, and we know she is going to bring so much care and comfort to her future patients. Alexandria, thank you for letting us take care of your smile for the last 15+ years. Joselyn is officially a graduate of Tennessee State University, where she just earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health! We could not be prouder of her hard work and dedication.

Joselyn is deeply passionate about healthcare and is on a mission to improve patient outcomes through quality care and exceptional service. But she’s just getting started! Next up, she plans to obtain her certification in Sterile Processing and continue her education in Surgical Technology. Her ultimate goal is to build a rewarding career dedicated to patient safety and supporting surgical teams in delivering top-tier care.

We have some absolutely fantastic news to share: Ivan has officially graduated from the University K-12 Academy in Southfield Lathrup! But he isn't stopping there. He is staying local and heading to Wayne State University this fall to major in Business Administration!
