What a wonderful afternoon with our neighbors at Rosewood!

We were so thankful to be invited to join the picnic at Rosewood Adult Foster Care here in DeWitt. Whitney Yates, our Pre-Need Counselor, and Katie Hammes, our DeWitt Chapel Administrator, spent the afternoon visiting with residents, families and staff, sharing information about planning ahead, and having a little fun with our “Remember When?” game, guessing what everyday items cost back in 1965!

From conversations around the table, to plenty of laughs over those 1965 prices, we truly enjoyed the opportunity to spend time with Rosewood AFC of Dewitt and their residents.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone at Rosewood for the warm welcome and for inviting Gorsline Runciman DeWitt Chapel to be part of such a lovely afternoon. We’re always grateful for opportunities to connect with the people and organizations that make our community so special. 💙

Each family who walks through our doors brings with them a lifetime of stories, memories and connections. It is a privilege for our DeWitt Chapel team to help honor those stories and the people at the heart of them.

We remember:

Lyndon Arthur Beck
Lurenea Rosalie Turcotte
Daniel Edward Fisher
Frank William Hayes III
Lena Lucille Perrin
Brian Wayne Foddrill
Kelly Michelle Maltby
Eleanor T. Keating

We are grateful to each of these families for placing their trust in Gorsline Runciman DeWitt Chapel during such an important time.

Our community is invited to visit our website to read their stories, share a favorite memory, or leave a message of support for their loved ones.

May the memories they leave behind continue to be shared, treasured and carried forward.

Did you know?

Bouquets and baskets are a thoughtful way to express sympathy and offer comfort to a grieving family.

Available in a variety of sizes, containers, and floral styles, these arrangements can be customized to reflect the personality of a loved one or the tone of the service. A classic mixed bouquet in a glass or ceramic vase is a timeless choice, while an all-white arrangement offers a simple, elegant tribute. More vibrant blooms, such as sunflowers or wildflowers, can celebrate a life filled with warmth, joy, and individuality.

After the service, bouquets and baskets are often taken home by the family, serving as a beautiful reminder of the love and support surrounding them during a difficult time.

It is our honor to serve the Turcotte family today on this positively beautiful day at One Church.

In a close-knit community, the loss of one person is often felt in more places than we realize. Through families, friendships, workplaces, neighborhoods and the many connections built over a lifetime, each person becomes part of the lives of others.

Gorsline Runciman DeWitt Chapel remembers:

Lurenea Rosalie Turcotte
Daniel Edward Fisher
Frank William Hayes III
Lena Lucille Perrin
Brian Wayne Foddrill
Kelly Michelle Maltby
Eleanor T. Keating
Janet Ilene Gonda

We are thinking of all those who are remembering someone they love, whether their loss is recent or the memories have been carried for many years.

It is our privilege to help families honor those connections and remember lives that will continue to hold a special place in the hearts of those who knew them.

“I don't even know where to start.”

If those are the only words you have, they're enough.

You don't need to know what kind of service you want. You don't need to understand all of the decisions ahead. You don't need to have the right questions ready.

You can simply tell us what's happened.

From there, our team at Gorsline Runciman will listen, explain your options and help you take each next step at a pace that feels manageable.

You don't have to know where to start.

That's what we're here for.

As DeWitt celebrates the 80th Annual Ox Roast this weekend, we couldn't resist taking a look back.

This advertisement welcomed visitors to the 1950 DeWitt Ox Roast on behalf of Vincent Funeral Home and Ambulance Service. Vincent Funeral Home had opened in DeWitt in 1939, on the same property our Gorsline Runciman DeWitt Chapel occupies today.

The names and buildings around DeWitt have changed quite a bit over the decades, but some traditions have a wonderful way of carrying on.

In 1950, Vincent Funeral Home wrote, “We join with all the other DeWitt people in welcoming you to the Ox Roast.”

Seventy-six years later, from this same little corner of DeWitt, we're happy to say it again.

Welcome to DeWitt, and Happy 80th Ox Roast!

Some of the most meaningful moments in life are spent with the people who know us best.

On Sons and Daughters Day, we're reminded to cherish the stories, traditions, and memories shared between parents and their children. Whether you're creating new memories or reflecting on cherished ones, those connections become part of the legacy every family carries forward.

Today, we celebrate those special bonds.
