✨MEET THE DOCS✨

Let’s get to know our newest Associate Chiropractor, Dr. McKenzie, a little bit better!

📍Where are you from?
-I am born and raised here in Dickinson! My family and I are very excited to be back.

👐🏻Why did you choose to become a chiropractor?
-I have wanted to be a chiropractor since I was 12 and have always been passionate about helping others. I believe the body has the ability to heal and adapt when given the right support!

🏡What do you like to do outside of work?
-When I’m not at the office you’ll find me spending time with my husband and three daughters who are 12, 2, and 5 months. They keep me very busy!

😀What’s a fun fact about you?
-I was pregnant for 6 out of 10 trimesters in chiropractic school! Balancing pregnancy, motherhood, and a challenging program wasn’t easy but made my journey more meaningful.

🌾What’s your favorite thing about Dickinson?
-The people! It truly is a community that supports one another and I’m so grateful to be back serving the place that shaped me into who I am.

Our next team member we would like to reintroduce you to is Dr. Emily Keller! Here are a few fun facts about Dr. Emily!

🌱What's your favorite way to spend a day off?
-I enjoy spending time with friends and family or leaving town to go to concerts, Minnesota Wild hockey games, and iceskating.

🐶Do you have any pets? Tell us about them!
-I have two yellow labs, Caddo, an English lab who is 4 and Wayne, an American lab who we recently adopted last fall!

📍What local business do you love supporting?
-Blue 42 and Faith Expressions

🤗What's the most rewarding part of your work?
-I love being able to help people move better, live better, and seeing them return to the activities they enjoy.

👐🏻What inspired you to become a chiropractor?
-I had a neck injury as a kid and my dad took me to see a chiropractor. This chiropractor came to see me late at night in his pajamas despite it being well after hours. He was so caring and patient. Since that day, I’ve always wanted to serve my community and help people get out of pain like he did for me.

We asked our Senior Doctor, Dr. Sam a few questions so you can get to know him a little better!

🏡 Where are you from?
I grew up in Livingston, Montana

⚾ Where did you go to college?
I attended Dickinson State University on a baseball scholarship and earned my Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. I later earned my Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, Minnesota.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Tell us about your family!
My wife, Afton, and I live in Dickinson with our three kids—Griffin, Paxton, and Taytum—and our dogs, Bolt & Bonnie.

💪 What do you enjoy outside the clinic?
You'll usually find me coaching my kids’ sports, training at the gym, coaching CrossFit, hiking/biking, or spending time outdoors with my family.

🏋️ What inspired you to become a Chiropractor?
Through my own back injury in college, Chiropractic and Therapeutic Exercise is what eventually provided me relief and allowed me to continue doing the activities that I love.

❤️ What do you love most about being a chiropractor?
I enjoy helping people feel their best and empowering them to live healthier, more active lives. It's an honor to serve the Dickinson community through chiropractic care and my passion for health and fitness.

Dickinson, Killdeer and Southwest North Dakota…were extremely excited to announce further expansion and growth of Back in Balance! Dr. McKenzie Olheiser will be graduating from Palmer College of Chiropractic and joining our team in July 2026! McKenzie will be splitting her time between an office location in Killdeer and our office in Dickinson and she is excited to serve you!

McKenzie was born and raised in Dickinson, where her passion for chiropractic began at the age of 12. She will be graduating from Palmer College of Chiropractic, earning her Doctor of Chiropractic degree. As a wife and mother of three, McKenzie understands the demands of balancing family, work, and personal wellness. She is passionate about providing patient centered care and helping patients improve their health, function and quality of life through chiropractic!

Back In Balance Wellness Center LLC has a treatment room coming available. We’re looking to rent it to a like-minded healthcare professional! Ideally, we’d love to partner with a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or another provider whose approach aligns well with our patient-centered office.

This is a great opportunity to grow your practice while working alongside an established healthcare team and serving Dickinson and the surrounding communities.
