For the past 30 years, Lori has been part of the TriStar Horizon story.
Originally from Knoxville and a graduate of East Tennessee State University, Lori moved to the Nashville area to begin her nursing career. She spent two years in Nashville, first with Donelson Hospital and then with TriStar Summit Medical Center, before joining TriStar Horizon. What drew her to Horizon are the same things that keep her here today - the people and the community-focused culture.
Lori began her journey at Horizon in the ICU before transitioning to the Emergency Room. That decision shaped her career and her life. Not only did she find the fast-paced environment she was looking for, but she also met her husband, Jeff. After four years in the ER, she accepted an opportunity to join the Heart Center team.
When asked what she loves most about Horizon, Lori talks about the culture. She considers it a privilege to care for her community, and she credits a former leader with teaching her the importance of building a strong team culture. Those lessons continue to guide her leadership today as Manager of the Heart Center.
Many people think of the Heart Center as the cardiac catheterization (cath) lab, but Lori is quick to point out that the team's work extends far beyond the cath lab. From diagnostic testing such as echocardiography and nuclear medicine studies to angioplasty, stent placement, and other interventional cardiology procedures, the team supports patients through many stages of their heart health journey. The team values the unique opportunity to build meaningful relationships with patients and their families.
Thank you, Lori, for 30+ years of service. We are grateful you are part of the TriStar Horizon team!
