A hospital stay in Amarillo, Lubbock, or another community does not always mean a patient must remain far from home throughout recovery.

Eligible patients may be able to transfer to Plains Memorial Hospital for continued skilled care in Dimmitt, making it easier to stay connected with loved ones and caregivers.

Ask the hospital case manager or discharge planner whether local swing bed care may be an option.
