The Roberts Counseling Team had an amazing time at the NAMI Sauk Area 5K! Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth this morning: we were so glad to see such a great turnout for mental health on such a beautiful day. 💚

🎉 We’re excited to share that Roberts Counseling will have a booth at the NAMI Sauk Area 5K this Saturday, July 11!

Several members of our team will also be lacing up their running shoes and participating in the 5K, and we couldn’t be happier to spend the morning supporting such an important cause alongside our community. If you’re attending the event, be sure to stop by our booth! We’d love the opportunity to say hello, cheer you on, answer any questions you may have about our services, and invite you to give our prize wheel a spin for a chance to win some FREE goodies. 🎁

Community events like this remind us how meaningful it is to come together, raise awareness, and continue breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health. Every conversation, every connection, and every step forward makes a difference.

Will we see you there? Whether you’re running, walking, volunteering, or cheering from the sidelines, let us know in the comments if you’re planning to attend the 5K! We’d love to know what you’re looking forward to most. See you Saturday! 💚

June is PTSD Awareness Month, a time to increase understanding, reduce stigma, and remind those who are struggling that support is available. 💜

PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) is not limited to military service. It can develop after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event, including:

• Sexual assault or abuse
• Serious accidents or injuries
• Natural disasters
• Life-threatening situations
• Witnessing harm to others

PTSD can look different from person to person. Common signs may include:

• Flashbacks or feeling as though the trauma is happening again
• Nightmares or frightening thoughts
• Avoiding people, places, or conversations connected to the event
• Feeling constantly on edge or easily startled
• Difficulty sleeping
• Irritability or angry outbursts
• Negative thoughts about oneself or the world
• Loss of interest in activities once enjoyed

Support begins with listening without judgment, offering patience rather than pressure, and encouraging professional help when symptoms persist. Gentle check-ins, consistent presence, and reminding loved ones they do not have to carry their experiences alone can make a meaningful difference. 🌿

Recovery is possible; if you or someone you care about is navigating the effects of trauma, know that support is available.
