A generous community member has invited LSSI’s Youth and Family Services programs to be apart of the birthday bash.

The Youth and Family Services programs are grant funded that consist of the following:
-Intensive Placement Stabilization (therapy/counseling to youth and families in foster care)
-Comprehensive Community Based Youth Services (counseling and crisis intervention)
-Project LEAD (substance use prevention)
-Youth WORKS (violence prevention)

These programs serve the 4-county area at no cost to any families served, including Whiteside County.

Come join us for live music, food, and great baskets that have been collected for the silent auction. You don’t want to miss it!

Happy July, Happy Thursday! ☀️

It has been crazy hot but that hasn't stopped the fun outside! Our prevention specialists have been able to attend some great events including the recent Nami 5k and the Mount Carroll Farmers Market. Turn-out has been great - thank you to those who attended the 5k and if you haven't checked out the Farmer's Market, definitely try to get there! Stay safe and cool, we look forward to seeing everyone again soon! 🌊☀️🌸🥖

Summer often means more freedom, more social events, and sometimes more opportunities for kids and teens to be faced with alcohol. Take the time to practice refusal skills and talk through different scenarios and help your child come up with responses they feel comfortable using. Remind them that they can always use you as an excuse to get out of a situation, and make sure they know your family's expectations. When it comes to underage drinking, the answer is always no.
