Talking is the tip of the iceberg. 🧊 Before a child says their first words, they need a foundation of skills that most parents never hear about:
👉 Pointing – showing you what they notice
👉 Imitating – copying sounds, gestures, and actions
👉 Comprehending – understanding what you say
👉 Communicating intentionally – using sounds, gestures, or eye contact on purpose to get a message across
👉 Joint attention – sharing focus on the same thing with you
👉 Play – exploring toys and learning how the world works
