Residents at our sister community, The Residence at Melrose Station - Melrose, MA, kicked off the first ice cream social of the season with a visit from local first responders.

With help from Soc's Ice Cream, the afternoon was filled with favorite flavors, toppings, conversation, and plenty of smiles as residents, associates, and first responders spent time together.

A special thank you to our first responders for joining us and making the day even sweeter! šŸ¦šŸ’ Moments like these are part of what make life at LCB Senior Living feel so connected to the greater community.

šŸ”šŸŗ Residents, families, and guests enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of Brews & BBQ, all while supporting a meaningful cause.
Guests gathered to enjoy a delicious barbecue meal, connect with friends and neighbors, and show their support for the Silver Square Walk to End Alzheimer's Team. Whether they dined with residents or picked up a meal to go, every participant helped make a difference.

ā¤ļø Thanks to the generosity of our community, 100% of the $1,200 event proceeds will benefit the Walk to End Alzheimer's, helping fund critical care, support, and research efforts for those impacted by Alzheimer's disease.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped turn a great meal and a friendly BBQ competition between the Dover Police and Dover Fire & Rescue into an opportunity to give back. Together, we're making an impact in the fight against Alzheimer's.

that every LCB associate is NIDE Certified?

At LCB Senior Living, dementia education is part of our culture. Through the National Institute for Dementia Education (NIDE), every associate—regardless of role—receives a specialized certification to deepen their understanding and support of individuals living with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia.

From culinary and engagement teams to resident care, housekeeping, maintenance, and operations, every interaction is guided by a shared foundation of knowledge, empathy, and person-centered support.
Because exceptional dementia support isn't the responsibility of one department—it's the commitment of an entire community. šŸ’œ

Empathy can be one of the most powerful tools of all when loving and caring for someone with Alzheimer's or related dementias. Created and developed by LCB Senior Living, A Walk in Their Shoes is an interactive simulation in which participants wear special glasses that restrict vision, gloves that limit dexterity, and shoe inserts to mimic nerve pain, simulating everyday experiences of living with dementia. By creating a firsthand perspective, the experience encourages empathy, compassion, and meaningful connection.
This Alzheimer's & Brain Health Awareness Month, we're proud to spotlight programs like A Walk in Their Shoes that help strengthen understanding and support for those living with dementia.
