Our hearts are with you as our community faces another heartbreaking loss. There are no easy words for moments like this, but please know that you do not have to navigate this pain alone.

Tonight, SpringVale Health Centers will bring our Mobile Unit to the Dover bonfire, arriving at 4:30 p.m.

Our team of licensed counselors, nurses, nurse practitioners, and caring support staff will be there to listen, share resources, answer questions, and support students, parents, and anyone in our community who needs someone to talk to.

We know the weight of this loss extends beyond one family or one school. Please check in on one another, make space for difficult conversations, and remember that asking for help is a sign of strength.

If you or someone you care about is struggling, please stop by. You don't need to have the right words or know what to ask. Sometimes, having someone listen is a place to start.

Dover, you matter to us. We are here for you tonight and in the days ahead, offering care, connection, and hope when they are needed most.

Our local 24/7 Crisis Hotline is always available if you need to talk to someone: 330.343.1811

Many of us awoke to the heartbreaking news of a student’s passing at Dover High School. Our hearts are with the student’s family, friends, classmates, and everyone struggling to make sense of this loss.

No sorrow belongs to just one of us; when one heart breaks, the whole community feels the ache. No one - at any age - is expected to navigate or understand grief or difficult times alone.

SpringVale Health Centers counselors are working alongside the Dover City Schools administration and counselors to support students and parents during this unimaginable time.

Walk-in counseling is also available at SpringVale’s RapidCare, located at 155 Garland Drive SW in New Philadelphia. No appointment needed, and there is no cost for these services.

To all students, parents, and community members: please check in on one another. Listen without judgment, make room for difficult conversations, and speak up if you’re concerned about a friend or loved one.

If you’re struggling or thinking of harming yourself, TALK TO SOMEONE! Please tell a friend, parent, teacher, or counselor. You don’t have to pretend you’re okay or face this difficult times alone. We are all here for each other.

ANNOUNCEMENT:

To improve access and convenience for the community, SpringVale Health Centers’ RapidCare Medical & Behavioral Health Urgent Care is relocating to 335 Oxford Street in Dover, reopening Monday, November 2, 2026.

RapidCare’s current location at 155 Garland Drive SW in New Philadelphia will remain open until Thursday, October 29, 2026, at 5:30 p.m.

Regular hours will resume November 2 at the new location, just off Wooster Ave. behind CVS and Speedway.

“The new location brings RapidCare together with many of SpringVale’s existing health care services, making it more convenient for individuals and families to access the care they need,” said JJ Boroski, Executive Director of SpringVale Health Centers. “We’ve heard feedback that our previous location could be difficult to find, and individuals sometimes had to travel across town to fill prescriptions. With RapidCare and SpringVale’s pharmacy in the same building, we’re making it easier to access care and the medications individuals need in one convenient location.”

The move also strengthens connections between urgent care and SpringVale’s broader network of services, including primary care, psychiatry, counseling, dental, case management, and women’s health. By bringing these services together, SpringVale can help individuals navigate their health care needs and connect with additional services when appropriate.

Boroski said SpringVale is committed to providing timely, high-quality care while minimizing wait times at RapidCare.

“For many individuals, wait times are an important consideration when seeking urgent care,” he said. “We strive to make the experience as efficient as possible without compromising the quality of care. Most individuals are seen by a medical provider within minutes of arrival.”

RapidCare provides walk-in medical care for individuals of all ages experiencing non-emergency injuries, colds, flu, infections and other common illnesses. Walk-in behavioral health services are also available for individuals seeking immediate support, including one-on-one meetings with a behavioral health counselor. There is no cost to the individual for behavioral health urgent care services.

Due to space limitations at the new location, in-house X-ray services will no longer be available at RapidCare.

The relocation is part of SpringVale’s ongoing efforts to improve access to affordable, comprehensive health care throughout the communities it serves. SpringVale accepts Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance. A sliding-fee scale is also available.

We are proudly partnering with Towpath Rotary Club for its annual health check on Oct. 17, 2026. This is a great opportunity to get a full blood panel plus additional tests completed at once - all while supporting a great cause.

We promise to get you in and out in just a few minutes; however, you may want to stick around and grab breakfast at the Bolivar Army Navy (after your blood draw, of course!)

Only 2 weeks until the Community Health Check!

Don’ t miss this affordable, easy opportunity to have a comprehensive blood profile performed.

We're thrilled to partner with SpringVale Health Centers again for this year's Community Health Check on October 17, 2026, from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Bolivar Army Navy.

For just $55, get a comprehensive blood profile covering cholesterol, anemia, and diabetes screenings, with additional **optional** tests for more specific concerns, including a PSA screen, A1C test, Vitamin D, Vitamin B12 + Folate, Thyroid Panel, and a ColoFIT kit, each at a minimal additional cost.

Pre-registration is encouraged for your convenience, but walk-ins are welcome too!

We’re incredibly grateful to serve a community that’s always willing to show up for our kids!

Less than 10 minutes after asking if anyone knew where we could find 15 pumpkins for our school-based skill-building group, Chris Lane and Giant Eagle in Dover stepped up right away and had us fully stocked!

This group really looks forward to carving pumpkins each year, and we can’t thank Chris and Giant Eagle enough for making this happen so quickly.

Thank you again for helping us "carve out" a little extra fun and bring some fall smiles to our kiddos! 🧡 🎃

With more than 1,000 entries in this year’s BigFoot R/C car raffle at the Tuscarawas County Fair, we’re excited to announce that Dottie Verhovec of New Philadelphia is our winner!

There’s just one small problem…by announcing the winner, we may have accidentally spoiled a birthday surprise for her grandson, Carson, who turns SIX in just a couple of weeks!

So, from all of us at SpringVale Health Centers, HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY, CARSON! We hope you have a fantastic birthday and have a whole lot of fun with your new wheels!

We'd also like to thank Magic Hobbies for making sure we have the biggest, baddest monster truck of all time to raffle off each year.

The week started off a little wet and dreary, but Mother Nature eventually got the memo and delivered a string of beautiful days to close out the 176th Tuscarawas County Fair!

A big thank-you to everyone who stopped by the SpringVale booth under the grandstand to share a story, learn about our services, pick up a Narcan kit, enter the BigFoot R/C car raffle (over 1,000 entries this year!), or grab a stress ball (or three!). We hope you left with a little less stress and maybe a new appreciation for what SpringVale has to offer.

We look forward to fair week every year. It's a chance to catch up with familiar faces, meet new folks, and spend time with the people who make our community such a great place to live.

And while fried Oreos and porkburgers certainly deserve some of the credit, the heart of the fair is seeing the hard work and dedication our local 4-H’ers put in all year long.

Congratulations to all the 4-H’ers on a great year! We're proud to be part of a community that shows up for its young people, and we're already looking forward to next year.
