What a day! It was so energizing to see leaders from across the healthcare continuum at our 30th Delaware Healthcare Forum. This is DHA's signature event and this year we celebrated three decades of collaboration in addition to record attendance and sponsorships!

Building what's next for healthcare will take all of us. Today, we saw how important it is to come together and learn from one another in these challenging times.

The First State Health Leaders Alliance participated in a healthcare workforce panel, hospital c-suite leaders had a candid conversation on the headwinds impacting us, Delaware Surgeon General Dr. Neil Hockstein shared his priorities, Ryan Campbell delivered an empowering keynote on joy, and U.S. Senator Chris C***s, U.S. Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester, and Congresswoman Sarah McBride joined DHA for a surprise fireside chat. We also recognized Rep. Mara Gorman as DHA's 2026 Legislator of the Year and highlighted Meredith Tweedie with the DHA Champion Award.

Thank you to all the amazing panelists, leaders, and speakers, our collective work will Make the First State First in Health!

And photo credit to the Office of U.S. Sen. Chris C***s for the amazing photo of our entire conference!

Medicaid policy changes coming in 2027 will undoubtedly change hospital operations and impact Delawareans substantially. It was one of the many topics DHA President & CEO Brian Frazee highlighted on the recent Chief Healthcare Executive “Changes” video series.

Delaware is a special place and a state of neighbors. Our small size is our strength when it comes to collaboration and making progress - it’s imperative to continue working together to educate patients and inform providers of next steps. Our healthcare needs continue to grow as the fifth oldest and sixth fastest growing state in the country, requiring greater access to care and a stronger workforce to meet increasing demand. At the same time, hospitals are being asked to do more with less at both the federal and state levels. In spite of these challenges, Delaware hospitals invest in people, cutting-edge treatment, and high-quality facilities to provide patients with the best possible care 24/7/365.

Thank you to our hospitals for always answering the call to serve!

Teamwork saves lives! We’re highlighting a collaboration TidalHealth Nanticoke and Beebe Healthcare to support a family with four children who had been involved in a rollover crash. Kristie Hull, BSN, RN, trauma program manager at TidalHealth Nanticoke and a Child Passenger Safety Technician, provided car and booster seats, educated the caregivers, engaged with the children and worked alongside Beebe’s team to help ensure the family could leave safely. Hull (second from left in the photo) also worked with Beebe’s trauma team on the development of their car seat program. Great work, teams!

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a time to come together and highlight what we can do as a community to support survivors. We also want to give a special recognition to our frontline health providers — doctors, forensic nurse examiners, social workers, and all team members — who work tirelessly to heal and ensure survivors have what they need to thrive.

Your work is so meaningful and makes a difference.

We had the honor of sponsoring the Delaware Coalition Against Domestic Violence’s Purple Ribbon event this week - an annual convening to uplift this issue, honor individuals who champion solutions and collaborate with one another. Congratulations to DCADV on a successful event and future partnerships!

Denisha Pitts, a patient care technician on the NICU at Christiana Hospital, was recently spotlighted for her ChristianaCare ROSE Award recognizing outstanding partners in nursing.

From ChristianaCare: Denisha was nominated for going “above and beyond” to show kindness to a family during their son’s NICU stay.
