☀️🎯 A little sunshine and some friendly competition! Our residents soaked up the beautiful weather with a game of bean bag toss - cheering each other on, celebrating every basket, and enjoying the simple joy of being outside together. 💙

Memory Café is today! 🌿☕

Join us this afternoon, 2-3 PM, in our assisted living private dining room as we explore an important topic: The Difference Between Palliative Care & Hospice.

Memory Café is our monthly support gathering for families and caregivers of loved ones living with dementia, cognitive impairment, or Parkinson's. Come for the conversation, stay for the community - and a good cup of coffee. ☕💚

Two generations. One home. 💙

Meet Philip Zaeder and his wife Sylvia Thayer, the second generation of the Zaeder family to call Langdon Place of Dover home! Philip and Sylvia moved in last September, following in the footsteps of Philip's parents, Ben and Ethel Zaeder, who moved to LPD back in the early 90s, not long after our community first opened.

The beautiful gazebo on our front lawn was lovingly donated in memory of Ben Zaeder, who passed away in 1994 (Ethel followed in 2005) - a quiet, permanent reminder of the family's deep roots here.

And the story doesn't end there! A fifth family member, Patricia Shalhoub, joined us this past January - so the Zaeder family now has multiple family members under our roof at the same time.

Multi-generational families choosing Langdon Place of Dover, again and again, is something we are incredibly proud of. Once you're part of our family, you're part of it for good. 🏡✨

Heather is unstoppable - creative, compassionate, hardworking, and endlessly positive. She's well respected by her peers and by our community of residents and patients alike.

🌺 Aloha from our Summer Bash! 🚗☀️

One of our favorite traditions is topping off the summer with our Classic Car Show & Luau Bash! This year our residents and their families soaked up the sunshine, indulged in an incredible spread from our amazing dietary team, and danced the evening away with great tunes from our DJ. 🌴🎶

A huge mahalo to the gentlemen who brought out their beautiful classic cars for our residents to admire up close - you made this event one for the memory books! 🚙✨

Already counting down to next year's bash. Until then, enjoy the memories! 📸💛

Our residents spent the afternoon last week becoming scam-savvy superstars! 🕵️‍♀️💛 There wasn't an empty seat in the house as folks learned all about the scary reality of scams - from IRS scams to romance scams, grandparent scams, lottery scams, tech support scams, and the new ones that seem to pop up every day.

A huge thank you to Christa Clapp, Elder Abuse Program Specialist with the DOJ, and Dover Detective Carmen Cusick for sharing their expertise and helping our residents learn how to recognize red flags and protect themselves. Residents also had the chance to ask questions and swap stories about their own experiences - because knowledge (and community!) is power. 🛡️✨

🌻🎉 Summer birthdays deserve a celebration this good! We honored all of our residents with summer birthdays this month, and what better way to celebrate than with a rockin' performance from 3 Shades of Gray?! 🎸🎶 Their tunes had everyone tapping along - they truly are "out of this world"! 👽✨ And a special shoutout to our very own Lou, who hopped up to join the band for a few songs - what a treat it is every time they invite him to play! 🎤💛 Happy Birthday to all our summer stars! 🧁

🌟 TCU Tuesday 🌟

Kicking off a new weekly feature! Every Tuesday we'll be putting the spotlight on our TCU - Transitional Care Unit - where our skilled nursing team helps patients bridge the gap from hospital to home. So much incredible clinical work happens here, and it's time to give this team the recognition they deserve.

First up: meet Rebecca Whitehouse, LPN, and Brenda LeRoy, LPN - a powerhouse pair with a combined 49 years of nursing experience! 💙

Rebecca and Brenda bring deep clinical expertise to everything they do, from managing IV therapies and complex wound care to supporting patients through cardiac, pulmonary, and orthopedic recovery. Just as important, they're a steady source of guidance and reassurance for patients and families navigating what can be a stressful transition.

Stay tuned - a new team member from our TCU will be featured every week! 👏

Residents enjoyed a bit of a foggy but beautiful walk at Odiorne State Park last week! ⚓️🌫️ From rocky shorelines to peaceful trails, our residents soaked in the salty air and gorgeous coastal views. There's nothing quite like a little sea mist to make an outing feel extra special! 🐚🌊
