Hospice care uses a holistic approach to make your loved ones comfortable.

When curative measures are no longer an option, hospice provides comfort and care to ensure your loved ones spend their remaining time with dignity wherever home is. Hospice is not a place or an institution, but rather it is a philosophy of care that focuses on the needs of patients when traditional and aggressive treatments are no longer an option. This approach shifts focus off the life-limiting

illness and places more emphasis on the persons using an interdisciplinary team approach. The goal is to improve the quality of life through the prevention and relief of pain by promoting the spiritual, physical, social, cultural, and emotional well-being of all. This holistic approach to care allows patients to live life as fully as possible and family members the ability to be present at the moment.

We kicked off Nurses Week with the Toasty Cheese food truck and a very important supervisor on site… Hercules. 🐾 Big dog, bigger heart, and he agrees: our nurses deserve every gooey, golden bite. Stay tuned, next week brings even more Lighthouse love. 💙

This week we're honoring the nurses who walk alongside our patients and families through one of life's most sacred chapters.

Hospice nursing is a calling. It takes clinical excellence, steady hands, and a heart big enough to hold someone else's grief, fear, and love all at once. Our nurses show up with all of it. Every visit. Every shift. Every family.

To the Lighthouse nursing team, thank you for the comfort you bring, the dignity you protect, and the quiet strength you offer when families need it most. You are the heart of what we do, and we are so proud to stand beside you.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to the Prayer Shawl Ministry at Good Shepherd Church in Naperville for this incredibly generous donation of handmade prayer shawls for our hospice patients.

Each shawl is wrapped with love, prayer, and intention, and each one will be passed on to a patient who needs to feel exactly that. The warmth of these beautiful gifts goes far beyond the yarn. They carry comfort, hope, and the reminder that our patients are surrounded by the care of their whole community.

To the dedicated hands that crafted every stitch, thank you for thinking of our patients and for the profound kindness behind this ministry. This is what community looks like.
