I cordially invite you to join me in Chicago for my Foundation in Manual Therapy: Voice and Swallowing Disorders class on July 11-12, 2026. Don’t be put off by the class title; this workshop teaches all licensed health professionals a unique blend of a long-duration, gentler style of work (think gentle MFR) combined with a shared decision-making approach. Our education teaches us to become experts in our field, but how do we best honor the lived experiences of each of our patients? This is a topic that I believe goes unrecognized and undervalued. The work I teach shows you how sharing power need not mean giving up your expertise. My work is abstract to many, as instead of seeking out a specific tissue or pathology we believe is at fault, we focus on patient relatability to the stimulus we provide and replicate. While this tactic seems odd, once you spend some time elevating patient input, you will see the benefits quite quickly.

This class is attended by many massage therapists who typically find a fascinating blend of co-attendees, including speech pathologists, PTs, OTs, and others, all bringing their specific areas of interest and patient populations, making for a true multidisciplinary experience.

This is a common phishing tactic designed to elicit a reply and potentially obtain personal identification information.

Key indicators this email is a scam:

Suspicious email address: While the display name may appear official, the actual reply-to address is unusual and unrelated to the State. For example, the scam email begins with an Illinois.gov email address but uses reply to domain like illinois.gov.atlantcwoodcraft.com which is not an official Illinois government domain.
Impersonation of Department staff: The sender claims to be �Sharon L. Keppler, Compliance Department� This individual is not affiliated with the Department.
Unverified contact details: The phone numbers provided in the email do not belong to the Department.
Unusual request: Asking you to confirm receipt before sharing further details is a red flag for phishing attempts.

The Department only sends emails from official Illinois.gov addresses.
We will never ask you to confirm receipt of documents in this manner.
If you receive such an email, do not respond and do not click any links. Report suspicious messages to [email protected]
