Sometimes the most helpful thing you can say is also the simplest.
As voice teachers, our role is to observe the functional singing voice over time, notice when something has changed, and provide continuity for the singer.
The next time you notice a change in a student's voice, try describing what you hear and see and share that information with your student, parents and/or caregivers, and any medical professionals that you may refer them to.
This July, we're diving into Collaboration and Communication between voice teachers and speech-language pathologists - exploring practical ways to collaborate, strengthen professional relationships, and better support singers throughout their recovery journey.
Whether you're looking for evidence-based strategies, have clinical questions you've always wanted to ask, or simply want to connect with professionals who are just as passionate about healthy, sustainable voices as you are, the Voice Teacher Collective is for you.
Led by Lori Sonnenberg, MM, MA, CCC-SLP and Natalie Sheppard, BM, MA, CCC-SLP, two Singing Voice Rehabilitation Specialists, each monthly workshop combines clinical expertise with practical tools you can immediately apply in your teaching.
