People ask me all the time what I eat for breakfast, so here it is. ☀️🌿

Most mornings it’s:
🥚 2–3 eggs
🍅 Fresh tomatoes from the garden
🌱 Homemade basil pesto
🍞 Gluten-free toast

It’s packed with protein, healthy fats, and nutrients that keep me full and energized for hours.

And today’s breakfast came with an extra ingredient… 🌈 little rainbows from the prism in my window. I figured that was a good reminder that healthy food doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes it’s just fresh ingredients, a few minutes in the kitchen, and a little bit of magic.

What do you eat for breakfast most mornings?

If your low back always feels tight, your hamstrings might be part of the problem. 👇

Your hamstrings attach to the bottom of your pelvis. When they get chronically tight—especially from sitting all day—they can pull the pelvis into a posterior pelvic tilt (think of your tailbone tucking underneath you).

That changes the mechanics of your hips and lumbar spine. Instead of your hips moving freely when you bend, walk, or lift, your low back often has to compensate. The result? A back that constantly feels stiff, tight, or overworked.

One of the easiest things you can do is a standing hamstring stretch.

✅ Hold for 10 slow breaths on each side.
✅ Don’t bounce.
✅ Keep a gentle bend in your standing knee if needed.
✅ Exhale a little deeper with every breath and let the muscle relax instead of forcing the stretch.
✅Hold onto something if you have balance issues!

👌Try it 2–3 times a day, especially if you spend a lot of time sitting.

Will this fix every case of low back pain? No. But if tight hamstrings are part of your puzzle, it can make a noticeable difference.

🔥Save this for later, and send it to someone whose back always feels tight.

Ok… little experiment.

If I handed you a Snickers bar 🍫… and an avocado 🥑…

…which one do you think your body would rather have?

Now before you say, “Well obviously the avocado…” hear me out.

People get SO focused on calories.

But your body isn’t sitting there with a calculator.

It’s looking at information.

The avocado says…
“Hey! Here’s some healthy fats, fiber, vitamins… let’s keep your blood sugar nice and steady.”

The Snickers says…
“Here’s a bunch of sugar! Let’s do this!”

😂

Now don’t get me wrong… I’m not anti-Snickers. I like chocolate too…I just choose a yummy dark chocolate.

But if I’m trying to have steady energy, fewer cravings, a healthier metabolism, and feel good all afternoon…

I’m grabbing the avocado every single time.

Your body isn’t just counting calories.

It’s asking…
“What can I actually DO with this?”

That’s a completely different question.

So next time you’re standing in front of the pantry…

Don’t just ask,
“How many calories?”

Ask,
“What message am I sending my body?”

❤️ Your body is listening.

So… Snickers 🍫 or avocado 🥑?

💥 If your upper back always feels like it has a golf ball under the muscle… this one’s for you.

One of my favorite tools to keep in my car is a trigger point wedge (you can find this Lezer tool on Amazon).

When I’m parked, I place it into the tight muscles between my neck and shoulder (the upper trapezius and levator scapulae) and lean into it for 30–60 seconds while taking slow breaths.

These muscles often become overworked from:
✔️ Computer work
✔️ Driving
✔️ Looking down at your phone
✔️ Stress
✔️ Carrying tension in your shoulders

Applying gentle, sustained pressure can help reduce muscle guarding, improve blood flow, and decrease the sensitivity of those trigger points.

Think slow pressure + slow breathing.
You can sustain pressure or just move slowly back and forth and move your shoulder up and down for upper back relief.

I use it anytime I’m sitting in the car for a few minutes.

Tiny habits like this can make a huge difference over time.

⚠️ Use only while parked (or as a passenger), and avoid putting direct pressure on the spine or any area that causes sharp pain.

Save this post for the next time your shoulders feel like they’re up around your ears.

Have you ever gone for a hike, run, or long walk… and suddenly noticed numbness or tingling across the top of your foot or into your outer toes?

Sometimes the culprit isn’t your back - it’s a small joint on the outside of your knee called the fibular head.

The common peroneal nerve wraps right around this bone, so if the fibular head gets slightly irritated or shifts from its ideal position, it can place pressure on the nerve and create tingling, numbness, or odd sensations down the outside of the leg and into the foot.

✨ Here’s a simple trick that often helps:

👉 Press the fibular head gently down and slightly inward while you slowly extend your knee and rotate your foot outward (externally rotate it).

You may feel a small pop…
Or you may not.

Either way, many people notice immediate relief when the fibular head was the source of the irritation.

⚠️ A few important notes:
• Don’t force it.
• Stop if it causes pain.
• If the numbness is severe, persistent, follows an injury, or you’re experiencing weakness or foot drop, get evaluated by a healthcare professional.

Our bodies are full of little biomechanical relationships like this. Sometimes a tiny joint movement can make a surprisingly big difference.

Save this post for your next hike…and send it to someone whose foot always “falls asleep” after a long walk! 👣

Have you tried cross-crawls before? It’s like crawling…but for adults! Babies do it to connect their left brain to their right brain and we need to do it again as we age to keep our balance. The ab work is a nice bonus. 😜The slower and more deliberate your breath and movement is, the more you’ll feel it in your core.

When you bring your right hand to your left knee (and alternate sides), you’re encouraging communication between the left and right hemispheres of your brain through the corpus callosum, the bundle of nerve fibers that connects them.

✨ Benefits may include:
• Better balance and coordination
• Increased core activation
• Improved focus and concentration
• Enhanced body awareness
• Better movement patterns for walking, running, and daily activities

Because your arms and legs move in opposite patterns while walking, cross-crawls reinforce one of your body’s most fundamental movement patterns. They also gently challenge your core and improve neuromuscular coordination.

💡 Try it for just 30 seconds to 1 minute each day. It makes a great warm-up before a workout, or a quick brain break during work!
