I stopped trying to fit into one industry.

That’s when everything started opening.

The conversations.
The opportunities.
The people.
The rooms.

For years, I thought I had to separate the parts of myself that made sense from the parts I could simply feel.

The strategist.
The systems thinker.
The project manager.
The facilitator.
The intuitive.
The space holder.
The woman who could walk into a leadership meeting one day and guide a sound immersion the next.

But the truth is…
the power was never in choosing one.

It was in learning how to trust the bridge between them.

People can feel when someone has stopped performing an identity and started embodying their actual work.

And maybe that’s the real shift.

Not becoming more polished.
Not becoming more “marketable.”
Not forcing yourself into language that doesn’t belong to you.

Just becoming coherent.

The right people feel it.
The right rooms open.
The right conversations begin finding you.

Not because you convinced them.

Because something resonated.

Today was full in the most human way.

Laundry.
Deck repairs and painting.
A well-visit with perfect labs.
Fresh strawberries from Candella’s.
An Aldi run for Tyler’s birthday cheesecake ingredients.
Planting.
Making the boys dig holes and move heavy things around the yard.
A stop to see my mother-in-law.
Pizza from Venice.
Listening to Ty tell me about his latest adventures while Phil went to grab Charlie from pickleball at the park.

And somewhere in the middle of all of that… I worked on my business for maybe an hour.

Handled what needed to be handled.
Then I went back to my life.

And every day I’m reminding myself:
it does not have to be constant exhaustion to be successful.

I don’t have to work day and night.
I don’t have to sacrifice my health, my peace, my family, or my presence to build something meaningful.

My business is stable.
It’s growing.
Opportunities continue to come in.

Not because I’m running myself into the ground but because I’ve learned how to regulate my nervous system, trust myself more, and stop living in perpetual urgency.

I can care deeply about people and still put myself first.
I can be ambitious and present.
I can build meaningful work and eat pizza with my family on a random Tuesday night.

That realization has changed my life more than any productivity strategy ever did.

People see the gong.

The gatherings.
The beautiful room.
The conversations.
The calm.

What they do not always see is the work happening behind the scenes.

Recently, I stepped into an organization during a period of leadership transition, staffing strain, financial visibility, and operational pressure.

I helped them make sense of what was happening.

We mapped workflows.
Built new operational infrastructure.
Improved reporting visibility.
Created clearer processes.
Supported leadership through transition.
Coordinated with technical teams.
And turned a lot of complexity into a path forward.

That work draws from more than 20 years of federal leadership, enterprise project management, process improvement, and systems modernization.

The Portal did not replace that part of me.

It gave me a place to bring all of it together.

Strategy.
Systems.
Leadership.
Environment.
Human capacity.

So yes, I created a space where people gather.

But I also help organizations figure out what is not working—and build something stronger in its place.

A little glimpse into what’s happening at The Portal this week ✨

Tomorrow morning we gather again for Monday Morning — a space to slow down, reconnect, reflect, and begin the week with intention.

Monday night, Sally Davidson returns with breathwork.

Tuesday evening, Kevin is back holding Men’s Circle.

And behind all of it… conversations, collaborations, ideas, community, nervous system regulation, strategy, creativity, and people exploring what becomes possible when we create space differently.

If you’ve been curious about using The Portal for your own offering, gathering, workshop, session, or experience, applications are open on the website.

And if your organization, team, or leadership group is looking for support through strategy, process improvement, organizational alignment, or Presence Under Pressure workshops through CP Innovations Group — reach out directly at [email protected].

This space was always meant to be more than one thing and it keeps evolving in the best way.

One day I’m redesigning organizational systems.

The next I’m facilitating a sound immersion.

I no longer see those as separate worlds.

For nearly 20 years, I worked inside high-pressure environments leading projects, improving systems, navigating complexity, and helping organizations function more effectively.

What I learned along the way is that most operational challenges are also human challenges.

Pressure impacts communication.
Urgency changes decision making.
Environment affects performance.
Burnout quietly reshapes culture long before it shows up in the metrics.

That realization changed the direction of my work.

I’m still deeply interested in strategy, leadership, systems, and ex*****on.

But I’m equally interested in the conditions that allow people to sustain those things without disconnecting from themselves in the process.

That’s why The Portal exists.

Not as a wellness escape from the real world.
And not as another conference room built only for productivity.

But as an experiential space where conversations, strategy, regulation, creativity, reflection, and human performance can exist together under the same roof.

I think the future of leadership development requires both.

And I think we’re only beginning to understand what becomes possible when we stop separating them.

An impromptu invite turned into such a meaningful evening filled with conversation, connection, laughter, and support for an important cause.

Also… within the first 20 minutes of arriving, I dropped my Sprite and it sprayed all over me. 😂

A few years ago I might’ve let that completely derail my nervous system and the rest of my night. Instead, I took a breath, cleaned up, regrouped, and moved on.

Honestly, moments like that remind me why I care so much about the work I do around pressure, presence, and regulation — because these skills aren’t just for boardrooms or workshops. They shape how we move through everyday life.

I’m also really grateful for Laura — someone whose grounding presence in my life for more than 20 years has been a steady example of leadership, motherhood, and how to move through life with grace.

The more I step into nonprofit and community leadership spaces, the more I realize I’ve been preparing for this work for a long time. 🤍
