Every year, this tournament brings together people who believe first responders deserve the same support they spend their careers giving to everyone else.

The Help 4 Heroes Golf Tournament isn't just about a day on the course. Every registration, sponsorship, and donation helps make healing more accessible for first responders who are ready to take that step.

As one participant shared, "We're not just going to save one life, we're going to save many lives."

Registration for this year's tournament is officially open, and we'd love to have you join us!

Chris said he thought asking for help meant he was a failure. That's a hard thing to admit, but it's a belief more people carry than you'd think.

It's easy to convince yourself you're okay when you're still showing up to work, taking care of your family, and doing what needs to get done. From the outside, everything can look perfectly fine.

Sometimes the people carrying the most are the ones who have gotten really good at hiding it.

If this story made you stop for a second, don't ignore that. Deer Hollow is here for you 🀍

When your job is helping other people through hard things, it's easy to convince yourself you'll figure it out on your own. After all, you're used to being the one people rely on.

The challenge is that carrying everything yourself can start to feel normal, even when it's taking a toll.

If this resonates with you, maybe it's time to give yourself the same support you'd encourage someone else to get. Deer Hollow is here for you. 🀍

One of the reasons PTSD can be hard to recognize is that a lot of people get really good at carrying it.

What often goes unseen are the nights without sleep. The constant alertness. The effort it takes to look okay when you're exhausted. That's part of why PTSD can be difficult to understand from the outside.

As PTSD Awareness Month comes to a close and we recognize today, June 27th, as PTSD Awareness Day, we're thinking about everyone carrying more than they let on, especially the veterans, first responders, and families navigating it every day.

We're glad you're here 🀍

Karyn Murphy, one of Deer Hollow's therapists, said something that stuck with us: "You shouldn't trust me. You have no reason to trust me."

That's probably not what most people expect to hear from a therapist. But trust isn't automatic. Especially for someone who's spent years handling things on their own.

Maybe that's why trust can feel so difficult, and so important, at the same time.

And if you're not there yet, that's okay. We're here when you're ready.

These are some of the things healing can include:

Not perfection.
Not having everything figured out overnight.
Just space to slow down, feel supported, and start reconnecting with yourself again.

For many veterans and first responders, healing begins by stepping out of survival mode and into an environment where it actually feels possible.

If you’re ready to take that first step, Deer Hollow is here to help. Reach out to us today to learn more about our programs.

PTSD is not just about memories.

It can change the way the nervous system responds to safety, stress, and the world around you. Sometimes the body stays stuck in survival mode long after the danger has passed.

If this feels familiar to you or someone you love, Deer Hollow is here to help veterans and first responders begin healing in a safe and supportive environment.
