It has been some time since I last posted here in IG land! In late December, an unexpected injury asked me to slow down in ways I hadnโt planned, drawing me into a season of deep cocooning, not only physically, but mentally and spiritually as well. What began as stillness slowly became an initiation of healing and returning to self with greater honesty.
As the Lunar New Year arrived, I felt myself slowly emerging from the cocoon, carried by a return of energy and a deeper sense of alignment. Across traditions, this turning of the year holds the medicine of clearing and honoring what has been, and releasing what is complete. Being born in the year of the Snake, this cycle felt especially intimate to me, a shedding that reached far beneath the surface. In the months before my injury, life had been moving at a relentless pace! I was building a new business while maintaining another, taking on homeschooling my children, and navigating it all through the Capricorn instincts of being driven, goal-oriented and always reaching toward the summit, through the lens of my Virgo Moonโs perfectionist nature. The forced stillness that followed softened something within me, revealing where pushing and striving could give way to grace and trust.
As the Snakeโs season came to a close I could feel old layers of myself, ones I had worn for decades, beginning to fall away like an old skin. And now, Iโm only beginning to feel the quiet presence of the Fire Horse, not yet in full motion, but grazing slowly, tending to her spirit, guided by intention rather than urgency before she takes off into the rhythm of the year ahead.
It feels especially meaningful to gather in community during this time, to reconnect, to create space for reflection, and to share in moments of presence together.
