We’ve got a bone to pick with anyone who’s been putting off their chiropractic appointment! 💀😂

Our resident skeleton is here with a friendly reminder that your spine deserves a little attention before it’s feeling as stiff as he looks!

Between hours at a desk, workouts, chasing kids, and all the other things we put our bodies through, it’s easy to ignore those little aches, tight muscles, and movement restrictions until they start interfering with everyday life.

At Curis, we love helping our patients stay ahead of those issues by keeping an eye on spinal mobility, addressing areas of restriction, and helping their bodies move and function well.

So take a hint from our bony friend and don’t wait until you’re falling apart to give your spine some love this Halloween! 🎃🦴💜

We may be a little biased, but we think we hit a hole-in-one with these two! ⛳️😂

Happy National Boss’s Day to Dr. Chae and Dr. Monya, who have spent the last 21 years building Curis, taking care of our community, and keeping all of us on our toes!

One thing we love about these two is that they’re always up for a little fun and never miss an opportunity to make things entertaining, whether it’s around the office or out on the golf course! 🤣

All jokes aside, we’re incredibly thankful for their leadership, their hearts for our patients and community, and the fun they bring to our team.

We couldn’t ask for a better pair of bosses! 💙

🎉 21 years of Curis in Dripping Springs! 💙

This week marks 21 years since Dr. Chae and Dr. Monya first opened their doors, and we have so much to be thankful for!

Over the years, we’ve watched Dripping Springs grow and change, welcomed countless families into our office, watched little patients grow into teenagers and adults, and had the privilege of caring for multiple generations of the same families.

What started as a passion for helping people live healthier lives has grown into an incredible team dedicated to providing thoughtful, individualized care for our community.

For Dr. Chae and Dr. Monya, Dripping Springs has always been more than a place to practice. It’s where they’ve raised their family, built lifelong friendships, supported local schools and businesses, and invested in a community they love.

To every patient who has walked through our doors, referred a friend, brought in a family member, or trusted us with their health over the last 21 years, thank you. You’ve played such an important part in making Curis what it is today.

We’re incredibly grateful to be part of this community and look forward to many more years of caring for our Dripping Springs families! 🥳💙

🎃👻 One of the windows in our adjusting area got a spooky makeover this month, and we’re pretty proud of this haunted house!

Take a closer look at the house’s little windows: pain, fatigue, poor posture, sleep issues, and reflux. Those are some of the “ghosts” that can show up when your nervous system isn’t running the way it was designed to.

Your nervous system is your body’s master control center. Your brain sends messages down your spinal cord and out through a network of nerves to every organ, muscle, and tissue, and those areas send messages right back.

This constant two-way conversation helps regulate everything from digestion to sleep to how your muscles support your posture. Your spine is the protective armor around that communication highway, so when vertebrae shift out of alignment, they can put pressure on the surrounding nerves and interfere with those signals.

That’s where chiropractic care comes in! Gentle adjustments help restore proper movement to your spine so your brain and body can communicate clearly again. A well-connected nervous system helps your body adapt to stress, recover, and function at its best, which is why our skeleton friend is so confident when he says “No thanks, I’m aligned!” 💀🧡

Next time you’re on the table, take a peek at our haunted house! If your body has been feeling more haunted house than happy home lately, book your visit through the link in our bio or give our office a call at 512.858.9355!

Hocus Pocus, I Need Chiropractic to Focus!

Ever feel like your brain is scary scattered, or maybe your little one is more distracted in school? 🍬🎃

Sometimes this is due to the nervous system being in overdrive! Instead of being able to hone in on the task at hand, the brain + rest of the nervous system is busy trying to figure out how to calm the storm that is happening inside. ⛈️

The TRICK is to TREAT your body to regular chiropractic care so that it can tap into the calm and connected part of the nervous system. Adjustments essentially help turn the panic or fight/flight mode off, and allow your body to operate from a place of PEACE. 🙌🏻

Turning the fight/flight mode part of your nervous system down is essential for being able to concentrate and focus when you need to!

If this is something that you or your child struggle with, we are here to help you. 😃

🏈❤️🧡 It’s Red River Rivalry weekend, and there’s a little friendly competition happening at Curis!

Dr. Chae is proudly representing his Sooners, while Dr. Lexi is making sure the Longhorns get some love around the office! 😂

These two may not agree on which team deserves bragging rights this weekend, but they’re having plenty of fun showing off their team spirit ahead of one of college football’s biggest rivalries.

Whether you’re cheering for Oklahoma or Texas, we hope everyone has a great weekend filled with good food, great football, and a little friendly trash talk! 😜

Now we have to ask…BOOMER SOONER or HOOK ’EM HORNS?! 👀🏈

We talk about posture all the time, but simply reminding yourself to “sit up straight” usually isn’t enough. 😉

When poor posture has become your normal, certain muscles may be working overtime while others aren’t doing their share. That’s why at Curis, we often pair chiropractic care with active rehab to address how your body is moving and strengthen the muscles that help support better posture.

Dr. Chae explains why correcting the problem takes more than just pulling your shoulders back. Give this one a watch! 💙

Some of our favorite reviews are the ones that remind us just how many members of a family we get to care for over the years! 🙌🏼💙

One person may initially come through our doors looking for help with something that’s been bothering them, and before long we’re getting to know their kids, grandkids, spouses, and sometimes several generations of the same family. 🥰

That’s something we never take for granted at Curis! Every age and every person comes with different needs, which is why we take the time to understand what’s going on and tailor care accordingly.

We’re incredibly thankful for families who continue to trust our team year after year and allow us to be part of their health along the way. Reviews like this one mean so much to us! 🤍

Frankenstein may be able to turn his entire body every time someone calls his name, but the rest of us need a neck that actually moves. 😅⚡

The small muscles at the base of the skull contain an especially high concentration of muscle spindles—receptors that detect tiny changes in muscle length, tension, and head position.

This creates a constant stream of cervical proprioception, telling the brain where the head is in relation to the body. Your brain compares that information with input from the eyes and inner ears to coordinate:

* Head and eye movement
* Balance and posture
* Spatial orientation
* Smooth, accurate neck movement

When the joints in the neck aren’t moving well, that sensory input can change. The nervous system may increase muscle tension or alter movement patterns to help the head feel stable.

You may notice that checking your blind spot requires a full Frankenstein-style turn from the waist, or that your shoulders come along every time someone calls your name.

Chiropractic adjustments introduce precise movement into restricted joints, stimulating the mechanoreceptors that communicate with the brain. Better movement provides clearer information for the nervous system to use as it coordinates the head, eyes, and body.

Save the stiff neck, robotic turns, and neck bolts for Frankenstein this Halloween. 😜 Your nervous system was designed for much more coordinated movement!

Getting caught in a web is one thing…getting caught in the same posture all day is another. 🤪🕷️🕸️

Now that school and fall routines are in full swing, think about how many hours a day we spend in the same positions. 😬 Kids are sitting at desks, looking down at devices and carrying backpacks, while adults are spending hours at computers, in the car, or looking down at their phones.

Our bodies are made to move, and when we spend too much time in one position, it can start to show up as neck tension, headaches, tight shoulders, low back discomfort, or simply feeling stiff when you finally get up.

Chiropractic care can help address areas that aren’t moving as well as they should and keep your spine moving through its full range of motion. Pair that with regular movement, stretching, and changing positions throughout the day, and you’re giving your body a much better chance to keep up with everything you ask of it. 👏🏼

So this October, save the webs for the Halloween decorations! 😂🕸️🎃
