Walking to remember those who have gone before us and the mothers waiting on this side of Heaven to reunite with their babies 🩷🩵

Loss at any stage or in any form is just that - loss.

And loss doesn’t stop there. It sprinkles itself in the furthest and deepest corners of your life like loose glitter from an earlier beautiful project found months later when tidying up - you’re fine, then you find that pocket of leftover beauty that feels more like pain, grief, and missed opportunities.

But somehow, you’d rather find the pieces of beauty left behind by your Heaven bound little one than have nothing to remember them by at all.

Fairview sees, recognizes, and walks alongside each and every mother who has experienced loss at any stage - and we vow to support you through grief, joy, and every feeling in between ❤️

💖 3 Mile Walk for the Cure 💖

We were proud to welcome the Dublin-Laurens Alumnae Chapter Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc back to our walking track for their annual breast cancer awareness event, the 3 Mile Walk for the Cure!

This weekend, over 150 people joined on Fairview’s campus to raise awareness and honor the legacy and lives of those affected by breast cancer - mothers, grandmothers, sisters, daughters, sons, husbands and so many more!

It was such an honor to witness the survivor’s lap - watching women who have fought breast cancer so bravely and come out even more resilient carrying the pink banner of awareness 💖

Thank you to our Breast Center for being there to provide information on breast cancer and the importance of annual mammograms!

Breast Cancer Awareness - every survivor’s story an opportunity to guide another woman along their journey 💖

Meet Jessica! 👋🏻

Many of you likely know her well - she’s married to Dublin-Laurens County’s dough boy, donut dealer, and king of the pastries!

She’s the support behind Williamson’s Bakery and is also a well-loved educator in our community!

But last year she took on some new titles she never planned for and never really wanted to have - fighter and survivor.

This is Jessica’s breast cancer story. This is her testimony to those who may encounter a diagnosis in the future, those who are currently fighting, and those who have a loved one affected by breast cancer.

“In January 2026, I went for my routine mammogram at the Fairview Breast Center. It was an appointment just like I had done many times before, and I had no idea that routine screening would begin a journey that would change my life.

My mammogram showed an area that needed further testing. I returned to Fairview for additional imaging, and a biopsy was performed by Dr. Andy Bedingfield. The biopsy results confirmed breast cancer.

Over the next several weeks, I had additional testing, including an MRI and genetic testing, and met with specialists to determine the best course of treatment. Ultimately, I underwent a right mastectomy with reconstruction on April 22, 2026.

My biggest message to other women is simple: please do not put off your routine mammogram. I went to Fairview that day for a regular screening—not because I thought I had breast cancer. That routine mammogram started the process that led to my diagnosis and treatment.

We cannot always prevent breast cancer, but routine screening and early detection can make such an important difference. Finding cancer as early as possible gives you and your doctors the opportunity to make a treatment plan before it has the chance to spread.

I am incredibly thankful for the care I received at Fairview and for the people who helped me through those first, frightening weeks of my journey. Most of all, I am thankful that I kept that routine mammogram appointment.

If sharing my story encourages even one woman to schedule her mammogram instead of putting it off, then sharing my journey is worth it.”

Fairview’s annual Movie on the Lawn has been reimagined as Once Upon a Lawn — an interactive fall festival filled with family-friendly fun, familiar characters and stories brought to life.

As summer comes to a close, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the incredible young individuals who participated in Fairview Park Hospital’s Youth Volunteer Program this summer!

During June and July, our youth volunteers contributed an outstanding 904.25 hours of service! 🎉

From lending a helping hand to supporting our staff, patients, and visitors, these dedicated young volunteers made a meaningful difference throughout our hospital. The RAE Award (Recognizing Ancillary Excellence) recognizes non-nursing colleagues who demonstrate exceptional dedication to service and an unwavering commitment to those they serve.

Mary was nominated for her outstanding work ethic, attention to detail, and the kindness she extends to patients and colleagues every day. Her nominator shared:

“Mary does a wonderful job making sure the rooms are cleaned in a timely manner. She does her job without slacking or complaining. When she goes into patients’ rooms, she introduces herself well and is very polite. Mary is very deserving of this award.”

Her nomination also highlighted a particularly busy day filled with patient discharges, when Mary went above and beyond to ensure rooms were thoroughly cleaned and ready for incoming patients before the end of her shift.

🏥 The importance of Environmental Services cannot be overstated. Our Environmental Services team is essential to healthcare here at Fairview Park, helping prevent the spread of infections, maintaining clean and safe environments, and ensuring patient rooms are ready for the next person in need of care. Their work directly supports patient safety, comfort, and the overall hospital experience.

Jasmine’s dedication to exceptional patient care goes far beyond her role. She is a trusted resource for our nurses, physicians, and frontline teams, providing education, hands-on guidance, and real time support to help ensure patients receive timely, high quality care.

“Her passion for providing high-quality, timely patient care is evident in everything she does.

She is an exceptional resource for our nurses and frontline staff, providing education, training, and ongoing guidance related to the care of patients with sepsis and stroke. She has a wonderful ability to take complex clinical information and make it practical and meaningful, helping staff understand not only what needs to be done, but why it matters for our patients.

One of her greatest strengths is her proactive, hands-on approach. She provides real-time feedback and guidance to physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and other members of the care team while patients are actively receiving care. 🚨 Did You Know? Every Second Counts!

Stroke and sepsis are medical emergencies where early recognition and rapid treatment can save lives. As our Stroke & Sepsis Coordinator, Jasmine helps educate and guide care teams to recognize these conditions and support timely interventions.

🧠 Stroke warning signs: Sudden facial drooping, arm weakness, difficulty speaking, vision changes, or loss of balance.

🩺 Sepsis warning signs: Confusion, fever or feeling very cold, rapid breathing, a fast heart rate, or extreme pain or discomfort, particularly when an infection is present.

If you suspect a stroke or sepsis, seek emergency medical attention immediately. Call 911 for suspected stroke or other life-threatening symptoms. Do not wait for symptoms to improve.
