In all things, there must be balance. This year, maybe approach your โresolutionโ less like a single action (weight loss, โgainsโ etc) and more like an overarching focus on wellness; mental and physical. This requires creating harmony and balance in your life. Iโll outline here how I like to frame things out so it doesnโt feel overwhelming. As always, hit the ๐ฅ with questions! ๐
๐SET YOUR TOP 5 PRIORITIES ๐๐ฝ make them things that you WANT them to be, not what you think they should be.
๐ MANAGE YOUR TIME ๐๐ฝ focus on work while at work, and leave on time so you can enjoy your personal time!
๐ SAY NO WITH A SMILE ๐๐ฝ (this one is a tough one for me personally) Set healthy boundaries for yourself personally and professionally. Donโt volunteer for, or agree to, everything if it creates chaos and reduces your focus on whatโs most important. Just because you can do it, doesnโt mean you should. You are your own best advocate in this arena.
๐ MAKE YOUR WORK LESS OF A JOB ๐๐ฝ volunteer for extra tasks/projects/training and responsibilities that you enjoy, and could hone skills to advance you professionally. Communicate your goals/ambitions to your managers and create a framework for advancement.
๐ SCHEDULE IN FUN ๐๐ฝ make plans with friends! Be as committed to this as you are your other appointments in life. Particularly if you are an introvert; because itโs too easy to just stay home if you donโt. It doesnโt have to be complicated. Just meeting up with a friend for tea can fill your soul. Seek out people that fill your cup, not take away from it.
๐ EAT FOR HEALTH ๐๐ฝ choose foods that energize, and heal. (More to come on this in a future post).
