We see you.

Your work behind the scenes
Your effort and tenacity
Your weariness and worries
Your aches and discomfort
Your warmth and hope
Your loneliness and need for community
Your unique longings, needs, and wants
…and all that you are in your whole humanity.

We see you, and are grateful to witness you in your matrescence.

However you mother, happy Mother’s Day to you.

And for those in wait, those who are bereaved, those with their own hunger for a relationship with their mother- we see you, too. 🩵

May is Maternal Mental Health Month, with May 6 being World Maternal Mental Health Day.

But really, maternal mental health and the wellbeing of mothers is a year round issue that stays under researched, under funded, and under appreciated. We need more from the top down in society, without missing the work happening from the bottom up.

So when you’re celebrating your mom, your own motherhood, or a mother figure in your life remember that a mother’s wellbeing and health matter all.the.time.

The wellbeing and mental health of mothers-in-waiting, bereaved mothers, and those who have lost their mothers matters too. We see you as well. 🩵

Infertility is a diagnosis. The impact of it touches so many facets of life from how you see yourself, to how you are in relationships, to all the things you have to medically manage in hope that this month it’ll work. It’s daunting, and the loneliest club you’ll work hard to get out of.

It’s national infertility awareness week, but the awareness needs to extend beyond this time of year.

Continue to talk about infertility, fertility challenges, and the necessity for insurance to cover treatment for this medical issue impacting hundreds of thousands of families across the word.

If you don’t know what to say, try simple gestures of support. Remember what your friend, sister, cousin, wife, partner is facing and send them words of encouragement. Practice discernment and sensitivity when offering advice. Let them feel whatever they’re feeling. Last but certainly not least, read handouts for friends and family.

Sending a big squeeze to all those dealing with infertility. We see you. 🧡

Someone you know is struggling to get pregnant right now. 1 in 6 people experience infertility.

This week is with this year’s campaign being all about how people are their diagnosis, more than their symptoms, and more than infertility.

Reproductive mental health matters, too.

Follow to get involved, and support to help the 186k+ Minnesotas who struggle with infertility get insurance coverage for treatment.
