Melly is probably not the therapist you choose because you want to stay in the shallow end of things.

She’s the therapist people tend to find when they’re craving depth. The kind where you stop circling the same patterns intellectually and actually start asking:

“Wait…why do I live like this in the first place?”

She has this incredible ability to notice the thing “underneath it all” very quickly. The deeper lens. The hidden assumption. The survival strategy masquerading as personality.

And she does it in a way that feels caring and compassionate instead of performative or harsh.

A lot of people drawn to her work are tired of surface-level coping strategies. They want real excavation. Real honesty. Real change.

Not worksheet therapy. Not “how was your week?” therapy. The deep stuff. 🌊

I think people sometimes imagine therapy practices as these super polished, hyper-clinical environments where everyone whispers and drinks tea silently.

Meanwhile behind the scenes at ours:

- someone is reheating their coffee for the third time
- somebody’s laughing in the hallway
- there’s usually at least one conversation about nervous systems AND donuts happening simultaneously
- and everyone genuinely cares very deeply about the people sitting in their offices

Which honestly feels much more real to me.

But a lot of nervous systems are not actually asking for a completely different life.

They’re asking for:
- consistency.
- predictability.
- small moments of safety.
- a little more softness.
- a little less isolation.

Which is both less dramatic and maybe more important than we tend to admit readily.

It’s not that people don’t have answers.

It’s that somewhere along the way, they stopped trusting them.

Therapy isn't about replacing your voice with someone else’s (...could you imagine? Yikes on bikes!). Therapy is a concentrated effort in helping you reconnect with your own voice

🌟 and 🌟

feel steady enough to use it.

I’ve talked to the same barista almost every day at 12:15pm for the past year.

It’s maybe a 5-minute interaction. And somehow… it’s become one of the most consistent, grounding parts of my day. For a while, I felt kind of embarrassed about that.

Like...how could something so small matter that much? It’s just coffee. A quick conversation. Nothing "significant", right?.

But over time, I started to notice something:

Those “small” interactions? They’re actually anything but small; They’re the foundation of what we actually experience as community.

It’s the people who remember your order. The coworkers you share tidbits of your life with at lunchtime. The quick, familiar conversations that happen in between everything else.

That’s the stuff that quietly shapes how we feel in our lives.

We spend so much time looking for big changes to feel better. But a lot of the time, it’s this. Small, consistent moments of being seen. ❤️

The couples that surprise me the most?

The ones who come in before things fall apart.

Because it’s actually pretty rare. Most couples notice when something starts to feel off… they just don’t trust it enough to do anything about it yet.

This month's blog is on what that first couples session actually looks like (and what it doesn’t).

If this made you feel a little called out (in a good way)… hey, hi 👋

You’re probably not new to self-awareness. In fact, you’ve probably spent years trying to understand yourself, grow, do better...

and you’re just at the point where you’re like,

“okay but how do I actually feel different?”

Here with you, friend. This is usually where our work starts.

Therapy for blended families isn’t just about adults figuring things out. Kids benefit immensely from having a space where:

✨ their feelings are named
✨ loyalty binds are understood
✨ they don’t feel responsible for adult conflict
✨ they can safely express confusion or grief
✨ they don't feel alone in a sea of things that feel cold and uncomfortable

When the system shifts, kids feel it...often before anyone says it out loud. Therapy for families helps create steadiness so kids don’t have to carry emotional weight that was never theirs to hold.

Sometimes what looks like anxiety…
is actually years of adapting to spaces that never felt safe.

Sometimes what looks like burnout…
is grief for the parts of you that had to go quiet just to get through.

If you’ve been feeling the pull toward deeper work [the kind that asks bigger questions and moves at a grounded, human pace] this is the space Melly loves to hold.

Her approach blends trauma therapy, somatic work, and insight-oriented exploration so healing doesn’t feel rushed or overwhelming.

✨ You don’t have to jump into the deep end alone.
You can learn how to stay steady while you explore what’s underneath. ✨
